Has anyone here ever traded stocks online?
I would like to try but Im not sure where to start really. Im thinking about signing up with Etrade.

I just graduated college. Its not easy finding a job.
So I figured stocks might a way to make some $.

Here's some free financial advice:

Never trade stock with money you NEED. If you wouldn't be upset accidently flushing it down the toilet, then use it to trade.

Never trade stock without having enough money in the bank to not only cover the cost of the the initial purchase, but also any margin calls you may experience.

In other words, get a job first.

agree about the not trading with money you need

but what about the advice to just not use margin at all when you've never traded before?
