1. Get Agent 1.92 (it can now get files posted with yEnc encoding, you'll see alot of posts with yEnc in the description, and you'll be missing out if your reader does not support). Get a serial somehow...
2. In Agent, set the Options to point to news.supernews.com, and with your login and password obtained from supernews.
3. Refresh groups list in Agent
4. Search for alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.dance, subscribe to the group.
5. Get all new headers for the group, maximize the Message tab to see all the messages.
6. Sort by Message header, this will greatly reduce your efforts since most files posted come in multiple posts. This way all related posts are grouped so you can tag em all at once
7. Scroll through all the headers and hit the A key next to each post you want.
Eg. It would look something like this:
34k Essential Mix - Sander Kleinenberg.rar (1/4)
34k Essential Mix - Sander Kleinenberg.rar (2/4)
34k Essential Mix - Sander Kleinenberg.rar (3/4)
34k Essential Mix - Sander Kleinenberg.rar (4/4)
And no, the 34k doesn't relate to the final size. I've downloaded files that say 103k and ended up being 160megs.
There may be a lot of other junk in the header like requests for other files, but with some practice you can quickly decipher what the posted file is.
Tag all of them for download, and you're news reader will combine them into one .rar file.
Some come straight as .mp3, some come as .rar, some as r01, r02 etc, some as .001, .002, .003 etc.
If you get a post with multiple .rar files, you must use Winrar 3 to unpack.
If you end up getting files that end in .001, .002, .003 you need a combiner program, I forgot the name of it, but when I find out I'll let you know.
It may seem like a lot of hassle, but when you've figured it out and filled you're first couple of gigs worth of dance mp3's it'll be worth it.
