trace program

Lao Tzu

New member
what is a good trace program, i.e. one that you put on your computer & it tells you who it is.

the reason is because i am being framed for a crime i didn't commit on another board & i want to see if the person doing it is someone i know who hates me (imagine that).

i've got cyberkit.

im looking for something i can steal off a filesharing program.

huh?... you want a program to install on your own computer to tell you who what is?

one where you put an email address, IP address, etc. in and it tells you what computer is sending the info.

i suggest you getting a firewall immediately. www.zonealarm.com

run your antivirus, make sure it is up to date.

if something is sending your info out, then you have a trojan virus, very bad.

TAPS: you are sexy, from your profile pic. unless, youre really a fatass below the neck line.

ye baby keep dreaming, for every IP you need to contact the specific ISP..... there's no magical program....

Why would a firewall help him with troubles on another board?
Zone alarm is a joke, get what you pay for though.

What type of traffic do you want to "trace"?

And no Manny, you do not have to contact an ISP for every IP.

WHOIS works just fine for registered IPs.

But since it's probably another BB board, the chances of an ape from that type of board would know enough to purchase a static address.

there is only really one situation I can think of where it would be easy.
some small colleges have fixed IPs for each computer on campus, and they name them based on their location on campus. even the dorm rooms - and sometimes even with some permutation of that person's username in there as well.

so IF (and that is a big if), the person in that situation, then you could trace back to them (traceroute) and see what college, and then find the info from there.

this method is far less feasible these days due to more and more users on networks, and the fact that nearly everywhere is using firewalls and proxies in order to monitor/prevent certain incoming/outgoing traffic.

like I've said before - in this case - social engineering is going to get you much further

Firewalls NAT outgoing addresses to the firewall's address, proxy's make your outgoing traffic appear to be coming from your proxy machine....so either way, unless he has more than one machine neither will help him 'hide' an address.

Nord, give us more details or Happy and I will piss everyone else on this thread off by educating them.

The only reall way is to spoof someone's address. I used to do this shit on IRC when in the early 90's.... ye I a had no life I know !!!

well, long story short on another board i reallllllllly pissed this woman off. and she started 'revenge stalking' me. about a month after that someone using an anonymous remailer started framing me for some social crimes. i mainly just want to see if the 2 are the same person.

mcafee supposedly makes a program for that, but i can't find it on xolox, bearshare, gnotella, etc.

she is happily married. so the social engineering thing won't work.

sex is usually only a positive reward for young males - but winning things is a human desire - so there's a hint for you

why dont you use CyberKit ? its the same I think and its free.....

damn. i've had cyberkit for a while. it didn't work. ah well. i know a woman whose brother is a computer nerd, and she says she will try to get him to hack the info (i don't know why. its not that important to me i just want to know who is setting me up).

You could download NeoTrace which gives you a map of about where the person is located unless they have a major internet provider like aol or something, just like a local internet service.. and that would mean he would be at least a county away from whre the map was.

or you could do this and find his internet company, all though it doesnt tell you where the internet provider is located, it does tell you the name of it.

go to MS DOS, usually in ASSECORIES> MS DOS PROMPT

then type in

"tracert (ip number here)"

such as "tracert 123.456.789"

then press enter

and it tell you some information about the computer, not that much though.

Traceroutes don't give data about computer, it gives you route information and packet timing.

Listen nord, if you want actual help take it PM or e-mail with either happy, r00+ or myself. Otherwise all the silver-back mafia here can offer is much less than you're average scriptkiddie warez.

if I give you a random IP, there's no way you could determine the exact location, name and address of that computer...... Unless you work for the ISP. No one here is able to do it, including me, you Happy..... blablabla.

BTW this morning my IP was 65.4.98.75 tell me who I am ?

I can say where you are and what your profession is - but that is social engineering and I'm keeping VERY quiet about it all.

and not just b/c he does pedicures for a profession :)

where I am well maybe, somewhere in Montreal since all IP's beginning with 65.4.*.* belong to HSE Sympatico. But thats it !!! BTW I'm always using Safeweb.....

Give anyone a random Static IP and they can tell you who the person is that owns the address, who the technical contact is for the site, how large of a block of IPs they've purchased and since the technical contact data also includes physical address, you can find out where the box is (assuming the technical contact is near the machine).

Most of the above data can be found by doing a whois. Tracking people who use registered IPs is very easy. I'd say almost as easy as using kiddiewarez to spoof your IP on IRC. :)
