Total 'newb' needs basic information.

Hello all,

First, my apologies if this is posted elsewhere; after a couple hours of googling and searching here, I can't find anything comprehensive (and un-abbreviated)...

I'm considering using steroids for the first time as an effort to increase my lean muscle mass, and thereby change my body composition. Currently I'm 6'0", 240lbs at approximately 30% bodyfat (as I'm told by the scale in my bathroom anyway). I have a high tendancy to carry the fat in my chest, giving the appearance of "man boobs" (however I don't believe it to be gyno, just being overweight). My hypothesis is that I have this condition because my muscle mass and strength are significantly less than other men my age (I'm 22 and in college). My bench max is 150 (whereas most of my friends can go at least anywhere from 250-350). My arms are also unproportionally small (I can wrap my wrists between my index finger and thumb easily). I attribute this to not playing many sports while in junior high and high school and generally staying away from physical activity.

Recently I've been trying to train as best I can to correct this, but on Monday night I sustained a very bad shoulder sprain during a martial arts class. According to two doctors (an MD and a Chiropractor), it'll be 3 months before I can lift heavy again, and probably at least a month before I can lift again -at all-. Once I do, my proposed plan is as follows:

  • Monday: Back, Biceps, Deltoids/Shoulders
  • Wednesday: Legs
  • Friday: Chest, Triceps

The idea is to lift as heavy as possible to trigger as much muscle growth as possible. What are your thoughts on this?

Now, onto "better living through chemistry": having NEVER done any drugs in my life (other than the occasional prescribed decongestant), what's the best steroid to try for a first timer like myself? I'd like to avoid injections if at all possible. I noticed something called "d-bol" on www.legalsteroids.com. First off, -is- there such thing as a legal steroid? What's required to search an individual for the presence of a steroid (either in the body or in the home)? What are the consequences if some one is caught in possession of steroids?

I also noticed this product: http://www.legalgear.com/buildMuscle/transform.htm.

So, to summarize, I guess what I need to know is this:

1. Is there such a thing as a LEGAL steroid (and one that is -very- effective?)
2. What's the best one to start off with (non-injection)?
3. Do I need to stack it with another drug to counteract increased estrogen or other hormones?
4. Is purchasing online safe? How can I tell a respectable dealer from a fraud? Can you recommend any vendors online? (I don't know anyone personally who I can 'order' through).
5. What kind of training cycle should I be on if I want to change my body composition by simultaneously adding muscle and removing fat?
6. What kind of diet should I be on to acheive the aforementioned goal?
7. I know the possible side effects of using steroids, but what are the PROBABLE side effects?
8. What is an optimum cycle (6 weeks on, 3 weeks off or something) for using steroids to minimize side effects?

Sorry for the length of this post, and thanks for any input you may have to offer!
 
Bro, I think you should spend your upcoming off time learning and fine tuning your diet/training. Once you start lifting again then you start studying AAS. After a year then we talk a cycle.

Look up cutting diets around here!

5. Use heavy weights, build more muscle
6. Go to the diet forum.
7. All depends on what you take and how your body responds. It is different for all of us.
8. Generally time on = time off

Now that I have answered your list, please take some advice. WAIT until you have a solid base before you use steroids. Most of us here are in this game for the long haul and understand how important it is to take steroid use seriously. You must first make an honest commitment to yourself naturally. See how much you can transform your body this way. It is through this test period that you will gain an insight into how your body responds to diet and exercise. After you've given yourself a base you will be ready for the next step. We will be glad to help you more then.
 
Hey man, don't take my reply as bashing at all, no offence is meant. :)

1: Now that Ph's are gone there really is nothing legal that is even remotely close to steroids.
2: I think your bodyfat is too high right now to start AAS. I would rec. alot of work on diet, and alot of cardio while you cannot lift. That being said, TEST is best! Injectable that is. However I understand needle apprehension, Im sure we all went through it. Something mild like anavar (though expensive) is a nice way to get one's feet wet.
3:See my fiirst comments in 2. However with var. being as mild as it is all you would need it some kind of PCT, and something for your liver as it is 17aa after all.
4:Don't buy steroids yet. Be careful about asking about sources on here, its a bit taboo. Don'y buy online as a general rule. Hang around here, learn more, read posts, ask plenty of Q's (we're happy to help), and gain some trust. Then, when you are ready, sources will appear so to speak.
5: Combine a solid diet rich in protein, veggies, good fats and complex carbs with weight training (when you are better), and lots of cardio.
6:See above. 40 protein, 40 carbs, 20 good fats is a good place to start. Include veggies in your carb allowance.
7: Side effects range from steroid to steroid and depend upon the indiviual. Anything from hairloss, testicular shrinkage/shutdown, acne, agression, liver damage etc. can occur. This can all be minimalized by proper anxilliarys.
8:This too varies.

So, steroid use is no walk in the park, it takes alot of knowledge to mess with one of the most complex balances in the body, and not cause damage. Hang around here, talk to the helpfull bros and sooner or later you'll be a library of knowledge and be ready for use. Wow, thanks for the quick responses guys! I think you're all generally right (as I suspsected) - I should focus on a natural change first. Just looking at where I am and where I want to be, the path seems...excruciatingly long and difficult.

And a-f-x, I can assure you I'm not a 'narc'. I don't want any specific information on you people at all =) I'm just looking into the possibility. Personally, I've heard all the anti-steroid propoganda, but I'm sure that it's just like the morons who abused ephedra. If you abuse ANY drug, you will have adverse effects. You can even abuse water - they call that drowning.

HAHA you can read the bombs, I didn't know that. I know where you're commin from man, i'm not pointing fingers at all, it just usually feel a guy maybe deserves some leeway in the first few posts before he gets settled if he sounds like a decent dude.

Try going on Jenny Craig and buy a few bottles of Synthol.
 
you kinda see what i mean? donnie brasco, get the FUCK out. but, if you are indeed a good newbie bro to the game, i apologize if i seem like a dick. i too am new, i may not have many posts or karma under my belt but i read, read, read and read. the best thing for you to do here, and at other message boards and websites is to just read read read, and if necessary, ask a question. 99.999999% of the time, all your answers have already been posted. if you must buy illegal steroids or body-enhancing drugs, ask some guy at your local gym. you will not find any here, this is simply a place where you can learn the ropes of body building, not an online pharmacy.
