Torn Pectoralis Major Tendon! Talk to me guys.

Unfortunately just as I thought things were going great with my gains and I was beginning to prepare for my first show in April I hit my first major road block since I started body building 8 years ago when I was 15 years old. Three Weeks ago I tore my right petoralis tendon off my humerous bone at its attachment under the deltoid. I was operated on two days later. The reattached with a plastic absorbable anchor and one suture through my muscle for extra stability. Very depressing! Since then I have started to go back to the gym once a week for a pathetic leg work out just to keep my mind in the game. This thursday it will be a total of four weeks in a sling so I will only need one more week before rehab.

Question:
How long does it really take for a tendon to fully heal before it stops and no more healing takes place. When should my confidence come back? Any and all input on this matter would be appreciated. I now more than ever want to get back and compete!

I have pictures if that is of any interest. I have been tking pics as healing progressed to creat a little pic history of my accident.

THIS REALLY SUCKS GUYS!

Need some confidence boosting!

Thanks,

that does suck, I'm sorry to hear....recovery will be different for everyone....hang in there....yuo'll be back before you know it....

yes at least 6 months, The best thing you can do is to start low and go slow, when working back up.

Good luck

EXTREMELY SORRY TO HEAR THAT MAN. best of luck to you in your recovery. i hope everything turns out well...

sorry to hear about that. Just wondering, were there any signs or discomfort before you tore it?

sorry to hear that bro , it will probably take at least 6 months to fully heal and just like seth said just go low and slow and work your way back up you will eventually get there im not exactly sure about this but i hear gh heals your tendons and ligaments heal faster you could do a search im not sure but good luck with your recovery bro

what does not kill you makes you stonger
and injuries like that will teach you how to train the proper way for other body parts

yes indeed is bad, bad the experince will teach you volumes

I would use this time to perfect the Deadlift, and Squat

not only are they fun, but challenging
challenging enough for you to hold your interest on our sport

I have been there my man, and you know what all of it, even the bad has been good, you will know be able to HELP others from your mistakes at that alone is worth it

the deads will keep your upper body working, and the Squats the lower part....

when you feel your pecs are some what healed start doing tons of pushups this will keap things more than working

also start going running alot (outside, and do abs alot)

this wil not only get your core strong, but will aid in those other muscles
thst are important for overall health

this will sound odd but running outside is good for you mentally as well, and it will promote healing as well

and don't forget

kevin levrone had one of the worst pecs tears ever, and he look fine now :)

The rate of healing will vary greatly based on post surgery medications used. While a total seperation cant be fixed with anything short of surgery, often times post surgical treatment dont allow for a fast or effective recovery due to medications used.

If you have an open mind I would recommend you see if there is a prolotherapy doc in your area (getprolo.com) and go in for an appointment and see what s/he has to say.

Thanks for all the info guys I apptreciate it!

CPA22- The only thing that I could think of is that my pecks were a little sore in the cornners by my armpit on both sides. I noticed it on light warm up. However, I really didn't pay attention to it because I just brushed it off as trainning soreness. I Had just come off 5 weeks of 35mgs D-Bol a day and had been on QV test 750mgs since the start and am still continuing until March 9th. So my confidence level was up there. A feeling of invincability if you will. Good old superman illness lol. That was my problem! Also I had started whinny and T3 to help prepare for my show and my diet was clean. I was about a week into them and still pushing hard.

p.b. I tore it doing Barbell Bench press. Unfortunately I was stupid and did not warm up good enough or do enough stretching. I was too gun ho. I did 135, 205, 225, 265, 285

reps were 15, 10, 8, 8, 7 1/4 respectfully. I wasd intending on ending with 315 for 5-6. Unfortunately I didn't and it will be a long time before my balls come back big enough to lay my ass back on the bench.

Stats:
5' 8"
now I am 220lb
36" waist

currently just doing Legs:

8-10 sets of Leg extensions
8-10 Seated Leg curls
10-15 sets Donkey calf raises
4 set adductor
4 sets abductor
Was doing this once a week for two weeks. Now I want to add another day. My Arm is still in a sling for one more week.
I did the above routine Tuesday and I want to do it again Friday. I understand I wont win any competition with out abs so i am doing crunches every night.

I am still on 750 mgs of test enthate QV once a week untill 3/9 then I am doing Liquid clomid nolvadex combo from LR for four weeks and then I heard that Deca is good for healing So I am going to design a cycle around that. I usually only like to do one oral and one inj. So I was thinking:

Deca 300-600mg/week 1-10
Anadrol-50mgs/wk 1-5

I'll have left over Test enth to so may add
Test enth QV 500mgs/wk 1-10

I want to be carefull because I wont be able to do much with my upper body so I don't want to waist a cycle. I don't make a lot of money ya know.

ANY Suggestions?

My therepist said that I won't be able to do anything with my upper body except what I am doing in therapy for four to five months.

Talk to me guys I appreciate all the feed back.
