Torn calf muscle

Halfway through my current cycle and I f'd my right leg up. I've been suffering through shin splints for a while now, but I thought they were well enough to continue running. Bad idea. They turned into stress fractures. Wednesday, about a half-mile into my daily run, I felt a "pop" right below my right calf. After x-rays and an MRI, the fractures and tear were confirmed. Now, I'm on crutches for about a month and I won't be able to start running again for God knows how long. Man, this sucks.

I just tore both my outer elbow tendons a few wks ago check out my thread bro

lots of information that APPLIES to YOU and your scenario as well.

Welp. You shouldn't have much trouble fitting into your new pants in a little bit.

Haha...good memory bro. Actually, I've lost quite a bit of weight lately. I'm actually down to 205...mainly 'cuz I've been running my ass off.

Yeah bro, I read that thread...good stuff in there. Hope you're healing up well, brother.

I almost fully tore the same calf as well. First week is gonna suck the most and you'll be on painkillers all day long. second week you should be able to ween off the crutches by the end of the week and 3rd week im currently in and my gait is pretty much fully back but i still can't push hard.

Shit...I WISH I had some painkillers. I've been popping Motrin like candy, bro. The Doc told me to try to stay on crutches through 3 weeks, but let the pain be my guide. Basically, if I can walk without them then I should.

Sorry to hear. Focus on bringing something up on your upper body with down time.

Good advice... Lemons to Lemonaid :)

Yea bro check out ghost's thread there was a lot of good info there.

The first time I squated on a smith machine I felt that "pop" too! Man bro it freaked the livin shit out of me!!! I was down for 8 weeks, I let it heal, easy stretchin, and worked it back in the mix slowly.
You'll be ok bro... the calves are the 2nd denses muscle in the body next to the heart so they do heal up fast. Dont be stupid and push it, give it time.

Good luck
