I have been jamming them since my freshman year in highschool, which was 95

this is something I wrote that descibes them the best I can

Colors of Tool

There is no other band like Tool, they defy most mortal description, but I shall do the best I can. Dark and tortured, moving and touching, forcing its way into your deepest consciousness, this bands music grabs hold of those parts of you that you are trying not to look at and drags you through them. The hard, intense driving, and encompassing musicianship physically drains you. Maynard’s primal lyrics are as though he’s reaching inside to his most honest, bleeding parts, and throwing them before us, and then it becomes beautiful.

Tool is the dark tunnel with the light at the end. The world of Tool is one of horror imagery, anger, terror, sadness and pain, yet also one of hope, beauty, inspiration and calmness. Mystic and abstract, while at the same time direct and powerful. Maynard’s lyrics are magnificently delivered by a voice that can hit you straight through your spine, but also comfort and relax you, healing your wounds. Tools music paints pictures in colors defined by the sound of their albums as a whole. Opiate with its manic shades of orange, eerie purple, and utter blackness. Undertow’s contradicting colorful darkness, the brownish tint of an old picture and mystical shades of occasional red and flesh-like pink. Aenima with the glowing greens and blues, the burning whites and deep blacks. Then there is Lateralus that goes back to a penetrating red, an almost transparent black, and mellow tones of white and yellow. Tool is my tunnel, and I will follow the light to the end.

Something else I wrote about my favorite art

Music Of Tool

The band whose name reflects their emotional purpose, while at the same time evoking images of sexuality, aggression, beauty, unbound higher dimension experimentation, and free thought provacation. If angst could be made beautiful, and vague given finite specifications, none of it would be worth the imaginary gold backing of a single U.S. dollar bill. That is why the art of music exists; we just don’t know what’s out there with any certainty. So dim the light,, crank it and listen. You may just discover the meaning of life, the sorrow of death, the simplicity of existence, or something in between. It’s all up to you.

bump, I just want everybody to read my works on TOOL
PM me to let me know what you guys think, please????????
???????????????????????????????
??????????????????????????????

tool is my FAVORITE band as well. I even got on their webcast interview and had my question asked "what belt are you in brazilian jiu jitsu?" and maynard is a blue belt under Rickson Gracie.

Tool has managed to accomplish so much all while staying out of the spotlight and not turning into another Korn or Limp Bizkit. Look at the band, they have won 2 grammy's for 2 songs off of their 2 latest albums. They didnt have to go on TRL to do this, nor do they have to write shitty ass songs for movies. They won because their music is great and ahead of their time. They write music how they like, not what people or the record execs like. shit, most radio stations do not like playing their songs because they arent a radio friendly time length. Even with all of that, they still wind up on top. I could go on and on about tool, but ill save it for some other time.
