Too much cardio

I'm cutting right now and will be for a while. I'm 6'3 and 346 pounds. I've already been on the diet board and have a good diet in place. What I'd like to know is why I shouldn't just do cardio 7 days a week? Today is supposed to be my off day but i'm antsy to get back at the gym today :)

Thanks!

Who says you can't do cardio 7 days a week?

Some weeks I will train for soccer and play games, the schedule ends up such that I am either at a practice or in a game every day of the week. On top of that I still train weight's 3x per week.

Nothing is set in stone, if you feel you are able to get in some cardio then go for it.

The thing to look out for is over training. The body needs time to recover, eventually it needs some rest. You may get to a point next week where you are tired and need to take a day or 2 off. Just listen to your body as proper rest is just as important as lifting/ cardio.

Thanks for the advice. I'm hurting to get back in the gym today. I'm on a roll right now with my excercise.

Since you're kind of new a this, caution would be your best bet. The tricky thing is you often don't know you're pushing too hard until it's too late- it just creeps up on you.

It's good to stick with the program at least a few weeks. Sometimes it starts out easy and then gets difficult later on. By then you'll be glad that you have a reserve.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with physical activity. You could try to limit yourself to something low impact. A long walk maybe where there's a hill, swimming, stretching and something with light weight, etc. Anything's good. This will give you a chance to see how will you cope with the workload before you overcommit.

I agree with maybe every so often heading outdoors and doing somthing fun and active like a bike ride or walk or trail hiking so you won't end up with total burn out. It really can creep on you.
