today's rant: politically correct friend

i have this friend who said that capitalism here in the USA and Canada are the major reason other underdeveloped countries have so many problems. then when i said "isnt it more there own internal problems which cause their failure" he laughed and called me naive. at first i didnt think anything of it, then patriotism kicked in and now im seriously offended that he had the nerve to insult canada, in an actual sincere way. when one of my american MSN friends bugs me about living in an igloo or overusing the word "eh", i shrug it off because its just a joke with no bad intentions, but when someone says something bad about canada, or the USA, and actually mean it, and have shitty logic to back up their argument, that really gets to me. i love this country, and the states, two great places, i dont care what anyone else says.

People are always looking for others to blame.... I can't stand people who don't take responsibility for their actions.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. In other words, if we become rich, others must become poor. I'm not badmouthing the US or any other capitalist soceity, but in a sense, supporting these fucking cartels (DeBeers, Opec, Columbian drug cartel, etc.) drains a country and leaves their people with shit jobs and poorer than hell.

I'm glad to be so fortunate as to be brought up in a soceity where we have the freedom to persue a dream in all aspects (religion, financial, physical). God bless the free world.

With regard to making another country poor.... if there's so much wealth and resources in these countries, why are they so poor?? Because they have a fucked up version of capitalism in which a FEW select people become fucking billionaires. Some of these billionaires have 50+ kids and sometimes one of these kids goes off and becomes leader of a terrorist network (ahem... bin laden) .

The states have it right... they've got a perfect mix of capitalism with some gov't assitance.
