So I'm alive. lol Typing wiyh one hand though. Last time I didn't have so much pain. After the block wore off (which was kinda freaky/neat as it was like touching someone else's hand) the pain kicked my ass. I'm on vicodin and ibuprofin. I'm not keen on the vicodin though as it's been making me throw up for hours. I'm going to call my dr later this morning. I've been eating with the meds but then I get sick. This shouldn't surprise me though as I have a sensitive tumm.

Thanks for the well-wishes and prayers!! Sounds like all went well. This is all wraped up in soft cast deal til the day after easter....then I can see it. I'm going to go have some breakfast, take a pill, and to rest.

I don't think I'm grossly disfigured Corn. lol It's not likeI got a botched nose-job.

From what I've gathered since being more coherent,he took out a cyst and a huge amount of scar tissue. The surgeon told my bf that I was hard to work on because I have such itty bitty little-kid hands. He thinks it went well though. The cut is bigger but I can't look at it. This time I'm certainly not going to be using that paw as soon as I did last time. Oh, and I talked through the whole surgery and apparently greatly amused th dr's and nuses. I don't remember that....but I hope I did tell the dr how I hot I think he is. lol I'd opted for a block at my shoulder. I had the choice between that and general....but general scares me as I've reacted to it in the past.

Ice cream sounds good Wodin....but better to eat as a snack vs soaking my toes in. I already had some ala and my last piece of bday cake this morning. Now the thought of food makes me feel sick.

The throwing up is a brain response to taking opiates. It passes very quickly and hopefully you will not be puking by the end of the morning.

Think of it as a really fun diet tool. Eat what you want then barf it up... all without having an eating disorder.

Raina...I'm on vicodin's too! Wooohooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Had my lift and implants done on Monday. I was taking percosett but it made my skin really itchy so the doc switched me to vicodin since I know how those react on me. I'm taking two vic's at a time as I have a high tollerance to the stuff. This morning I woke up, hubby was gone already and my pain meds had worn off...it took me a few minutes to get out of bed. When hubby called I asked him NOT to leave tomorrow morning without making sure I had my meds first! LOL

For naussia, I didn't need it, but my doc prescribed some suppositories called Promethegan 25 mg. Maybe those would help stop your vomitting? It says to take them every 6 hrs for the relief of nausea.

the promethegan is the same thing as Phenergan, and it is an anti-nausea med, you should definitely ask for a script for phenergan to go with your pain meds, they come in pills and suppositories, i prefer the pill, thank you very much!

I know this isn't going to sound all that great but I'd be smoking a "J" right about now. I had wrist surgery 10 yrs ago & that's what helped me to relieve the pain & nausea. Percocettes just weren't cutting it & were making me sick. Docs now days don't seem to give out the real good pain meds like they used to...so I just took care of it myself. Took about 3 weeks before things kinda settled down. I know how you're feeling feel though & wish you a fast & speedy recovery! Good luck & take care of yourself.

Good luck Kate, it will get better soon. I had both wrists cut on for carpel tunnel, and after the first day the pain got a lot better.
