Would any of the more experienced and knowledgeable members of the board consider doing a post that would be the be all and end all of hairloss prevention and treatment. The main problem for me and I'm sure I'm not alone is knowing which treatments to use to combat hairloss from particular steroids or groups of steroids such as Test, Tren, D'bol, nandrolones and DHT derivatives such as Primo and Winny.I read the excellent thread by DECEM yesterday 2nd Aug. titled "Answer to hairloss questions here" and IMO it is a must read to all those prone to or concerned with MPB!
The reason behind this request is being a novice to A.S. I'm not very well clued up on the chemistry involved or terminology used in most threads concerning MPB.So I was thinking maybe someone could explain in layman's terms the difference between the effectiveness of Spironolactone in relation to it's inhibition of DHT at the A/R and how Finasteride protects the follicles because as I understand it Finasteride will reduce overall levels of DHT by 60% - 80% but it cannot achieve this in the scalp because it has no effect on Type 1 - 5 Alpha Reductase [another term I don't understand] the main enzyme that converts test to DHT and yet Revivogen state in their pamphlet that " by blocking the activity of 5 A/R and lowering the concentration of DHT in the scalp Revivogen has a very similar action to Propecia"-which unless I'm wrong contains only Finasteride???.Also if someone could explain why as most treatments seem to effectively reduce or block DHT synthesis in the scalp they are totally useless against certain roids - Oh yeah and how Minoxidil works!
The treatments I was hoping for info on are:
PROSCAR/PROPECIA - Finasteride.
REVIVOGEN - Azelaic acid, Linolenic acid, Vitamin B6, Zinc and Saw Palmetto.
ROGAINE.
MINOXIDIL.
XANDROX - Azelaic acid and Minoxidil.
SPIRONOLACTONE.
NIZORAL.
SAW PALMETTO.
I hope thats not ripping the arse out of it !
