the word nigger is offencive.. to me and every black person that has ever been called a nigger. nigger dosnt mean ignorant or "disgracful" it means black person. you know it and every alive knows this.

To keep things fair bo, it is modern day blacks who use this word as a sign of comraderie amongst each other. That's only sending other races a sign that they use it amongst themseleves in good nature, so why are they complaining? Blacks will say it's because it's a "black" thing. And other races shouldn't use it. Well that doesn't do much to help out the black peoples case of wanting to stop being supposedly segregated from the rest of society, when they are infact making the case worse by going along with things like this. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can try but as you see it leads to confusion and bullshit. It seems to send the message of "respect us for who we are and accept us, let our race seamlessly flow into the rest of modern society, but oh yeah, see there's certain things that are for us and us only that can't bleed into society, it's only for us, ok?"

Don't give me outdated dictionary definitions. I'm certain Websters defines gay at least in part as "happy." But no one any longer uses the expression "he's gay" to denote a merry demeanor.

But I'd be willing to take anyone wishing to prove me wrong down to Newark's South ward boxing gym so as to test their hypothesis.

One final thing. There is nothing PC about avoiding being ignorant and offensive. It is just common decency. Trying to compare the unique situation of an African American in this country, given the past and recent history, to that of a Polish,German,Irish,etc etc is absurd and poorly reasoned

You have to understand boden, it's all about fear. People call you (black people) names like that from a distance simply because they are afraid of you, so afraid that the only way they are willing to fight you is from a safe distance. I've had friends who act like that towards black people, it disgusts me and I don't understand it. I'm one of the few out of my friends who went to college, so I was exposed to many black people (even had many of them as friends) and learned what they are really like. But in many places in America yet, blacks are not very common, and people can grow up not really knowing how to act around them. Of course there are simple racist people too, but that is just born out of fear.

You have to just turn a shoulder and shrug it off in situations like that because there is nothing else you can do. Just know that when that shit happens, it's because you scare them. If they were standing right in front of you, 95% of them would turn their head away and walk on by without saying a single word.

im not tuned in to the racial undertones of the threads youre talking about, but from your posts, youre as bad a racist as the people who yell out of cars. imo youre one of the few people here looking at the crowd along racist lines. youre the one separating yourself from the group, and however righteous you may feel when you do it because of your fathers experiences etc etc or whatever, i think that your preoccupation with your racial background is making other people see you in that vein also, where before they just saw another face in the crowd.
