Tire recommendations?

beastboy

I have to get tires for my wife's car today. Any suggestions? I only need three, because Bullit has been kind enough to donate the one from around his waist. Thanks man!

The wheels on the bus go round and round....round and round...round and round...the wheels on the bus go round and round all over town.

Yoko's are a bit pricer..You may want to check into Kumho - They ar just a s good as Yoko's for the price.

Yes, Cooper Tire is a VERY good tire. Hey, if they are good enough for Arnie Palmer..They will be good enough for the wife. ;-)

Besides, they are a client of mine...Gotta give a plug for a client, right?

To get a good response, you might want to list the size tire and price range. I can make plenty of recommendations, but not without that info.

I'm told Michelin are the best.

That being said, I use Firestone Firehawks because they were cheaper and had the same guarantee. muhaha

Yep...those are on my list too. Isn't that what you have on your house?

my house has tank treads.

I recommend you wife buy goodyears. You should buy Firestones. Especially if you own a Ford Explorer.

I have to admit, I would feel bad if you got into an accident. I'd miss your antics here on EF. But if you did get into an accident and had internet access in the hospital, then that would work for me.

Send me your addy and I will fedx you three prime specimens that are outback in the junkpile full of muddy water and mosquitos. You didnt want all the same size did you?

Ps..seriously-if you can afford them I bought a set of michelans and they have outlasted any other tire I have bought thus far.

i got a set of yokahama avs sports 235/40/17's for 300 bucs ebay slightly used (80%) tread i thought that was a good deal...i picked them up and didn't pay for shipping so it was well worth it

Tirerack is good. there's also another big onlie tire place. I can't remember what it's called.

It is DEFINITELY cheaper to order the tires and have somneone put them on.

Even with shipping and the mounting and balancing fee, it works out to where you can either save 30-100 bucks on a set of tires or get MUCH better tires for the same price. especially if you find a set on sale.

I got a sweet set of Pirellis for something ridiculous like $32 a tire.

You ever order from there?

Yes, Or call them, and they can tell you the best tire for what you want.

Tread life
Handling
Quite ride
etc..

Shipped to your house and them you go to the local garage or
Sams or whatever and pay $5 per or so to mount and ballance.

Discount tire will ship to the local Discount Tire. Awesome prices and service and guarantees. They will also match price.

All of the tires noted are fine.

Kuhmo suck balls but they are the cheapest and look cool. I put them on my E55 before I returned it off lease, the ride was 100% worse.

Toyo are good, inexpensive tires as are the Yokohama AVS series.

In all seriousness, it's a Taurus SE.

Buy the cheapest set that's on sale at Tire Rack or Discount Tire. Steal a copy of Road and Track or Car and Driver from your dentist and go to town.
