Timing of postwork meal

After my workout is done i Drink the gatorade ASAP wait a couple minutes and drink the protein shake is this fine? or i have to wait longer to take the protein shake?
 
That's fine....you don't have to be THAT precise....as long as you get your simple carbs and protein within 15 minutes or so of training - you should be just fine.
 
ye i agree u dont have to be so precise...the only thing you have to do is get high carb and high protein within the first hour. ide also make sure u get some l-glutamine in there as well
 
I've heard that within 2 hours of the end of your workout is acceptable to get all the benefits of the postworkout meal.

I determine when to eat mine judging hunger and feeling.

- sometimes i am not hungry after a workout...but will ALWAYS eat because otherwise i know i will feel shit soon enough. rather feel good 100% of the time, than let your metabolism drop before realising you need to eat.

Are you saying that your blood sugar crashes?
 
if i dont eat properly..YES! i am a mess if i dont get food at the right time. serious dangerous stuff
 
I also am very susceptible to having hypoglycemic episodes after meals (Reactive Hypoglycemia). For some reason though( I think because excercise causes insulin resistance), I don't have this problem as much after I workout. However, I do have this problem after eating my post workout meal.
 
mine are before....my body is so used to eating every 2-3hrs that if it doesnt get food then or enof food..it literally withers!
 
You should be having a liquid meal within 15 to 30 minutes after
your workout...

and then a solid protein/carb meal an hour and a half later
