Thyroid Question

Hello All,
I'm a newbie in this board. I was wondering if someone knows if gear can cause thyroid problems. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism when I was 14, had the radioactive iodine done. Now I take "Armour Thyroid", which is thyroid replacement. I'm wondering if using gear can alter my thyroid or have interactions/side effects with my thyroid med. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

yes they put a strain on the thyroid and a thyroid imbalance will fuck u up for awhile.. dont know about ure condition but tahts in general

Thanks for replying! My thyroid levels are ok now, taking thyroid medication is for replacement of natural thyroid. Basically, my thyroid levels right now are like a normal person.

Sounds like we had the same problem. I had hyper, then had the radio active iodine. AAS won't fuck up your thyroid. While taking AAS your thyroid will try to increase due to several metabolic factors. How much T4, Synthoid, are you on?

I'm actually taking "Armour Thyroid" which has both T3 and T4. I take 120mg a day. Last time I juiced I didn't feel anything abnormal other than the usual AS side effects. Before, I used to take Synthroid, but I kinda prefer Armour since Synthroid has only T4 I believe. Armour has the whole package!

Not sure in your case as I don't know how much of your thyroid function was killed off with the RAI. As far as interactions many people take thyroid and AAs together. AAS will interfere with TSH levels from reviewing my past bloodwork while on and off.
Good article on AAS effects on normal Thy function here:

Yeah, the Armour is better than Synthroid.
