Three Cheers for Mel Gibson

books in the bible; voted on by a committee appointed by roman emperor constantine. (don't believe it? look it up)

You are wrong. Judging from your comments, you get your "facts" from that FICTIONAL bestseller popular with atheists called the DaVinci Code.

The committee you refer to was called the Council of Nicea, it happened in 325 AD. It's purpose was to affirm Christ's divinity. 300 bishops from around the world unanimously voted to affirm, despite the constant threat of bloody persecution.

The books of the bible as we know it today have been established since as early as 60 AD when referred to by Peter in the book of Acts.

BTW, no one is arguing that the Bible was written by God. It is the inspired word of God written by men. Get your facts straight.

To anyone who doubts the Bible or the Gospels, or even if there is a God.... Go see the movie... Just go and watch it... It will change your life....... or it wont. What do you have to lose? And dont give me that crap about "oh, its too violent" thats bullshit! We see violence galore every day... Thats just a cop out... To those of you who have had negative things to say..... GO AND SEE THE MOVIE! THEN COME BACK HERE AND TELL US WHAT YOU THINK! DONT PRE JUDGE IT!

im looking forward to seeing this.... but i know ill have to sit next to people in the movie theater..

i hate that

Just do what I do, either wait to rent it or download it. The whole "theater experience" can ruin a good movie for me, I made an exception for the Lord of the Rings trilogy but in RotK I got stuck with kids eating popcorn and talking all around me. One little kid was constantly asking his mom "is that Frodo?" throughout the whole movie, very annoying.

I love it -- for years conservatives have complained about the Liberal Hollywood Elite, and said that no one wants to know what celebrities think about anything, they should just shut up and act/sing/perform.

So now, Mel Gibson has made a movie that has the Religious Right and the bible-thumpers creaming in their jeans, and there are threads on every message board on the net about how this is such an important event and how we all need to go out and support this worthy cause. Hipocrisy in action.

Can't wait to watch it tomorrow.

Better bone up on your Aramaic, then, 'cause the dialogue is not in English.

.
Mel Gibson is obviously not a member of the liberal Hollywood Elite. Let me know what you think of the movie after you see it.

Obviously. And, therefore, his views somehow have some weight, whereas the typical limousine liberal's views don't... Double standard. Gibson is being celebrated for proselytizing because his views are in line with the Religious Right establishment.
