[The movie isn't directly anti-semitic, only indirectly.] But the real concern is that the movie pits Jesus and his immediate followers against everyone else, perfect goodness against satanic evil. In so doing, "The Passion" has the potential to challenge the core values of democratic pluralism and mutual religious respect that undergird our country.

This too is much ado about nothing. So much in that it plays as a destractive agent in keeping people from focusing on what is really important in thier day to day lives. Things such as why are we still in Iraq? Why did we even go to war with them? Where is Osama Bin Laden? What are we going to do, if anything, about the MMA party in Pakistan? They're the reincarnated Taliban.

You know real world issues.

What has gotten in to you? Your hatred for Bush has consumed you. The subject of this movie WILL impact on folks. It will even impact you I'll bet. I dare you to watch it with an open mind/heart.

Since you obviously don't know anything about Jews, let me tell you some things.

We only give a shit about Jesus to the extent that his "followers" fuck with us. That, historically, has been quite a bit.

So if a movie has any hint of anti-semitism, Jews get a little anxious because we're so aware of past and present religious persecution. Even to this day Jews die by the dozens due to suicide bombings in Israel. So excuse our attitude, which is one of, "Just fucking great, another group that sees us as the Enemy."

What makes this movie so bad is that it has the potential to incite anti-semitism in a group that, so far, has largely left us alone: the modern american christian.

Does that make sense?

I don't see how this movie would incite anit-semitism in modern Christians, since it depicts the Gospel of Christ which any Christian is already quite familiar with already. Besides, it is history.

except for the part about israelites dying by the dozens. They dont appear to be completely innocent in all of that. as a modern american christian i could sure take offense to your comments in this post if it didnt seem the intent of the movie to stir up controversy.
