If I don't take my Cytomel, my T3 levels fall down too low. If I take my Cytomel, my T3 levels go up to healthy, optimal levels. Down side is that my insulin levels skyrocket to 3 times over the top limit! WTF?!

Blood work says that my insulin levels CANNOT go past 29;yet,when I take Cytomel my insulin levels go up to friggin 60! Having high insulin levels is NOT cool!

What do I do?

I'm not sure I can help you as much as someone else on it but cytomel is a fast acting thyroid med so that might explain the up and down levels. If you're needing thyroid meds you should be taking synthroid because it's a longer acting pill which should keep things level.

I do take synthroid at 150mcgs along with cytomel. Synthroid alone brings my T3 levels to 2.2, which according to blood work is on the low end. It also brings my insulin levels to 29. I feel sluggish with the synthroid alone, hence why I take the cytomel. When I take cytomel, my energy, and mood go up, but my insulin sky rockets!

I will talk to my doc about this. Then again, wtf can he do? All he's going to tell me is to stop taking the cytomel, and just stick with synthroid. Not going to do that of course. What for? So I can have low energy all day long?

I was on it (cytomel) for less then a month when my thyroid was removed then he put me on synthroid to bring my levels up. It took a year, yes a year! Before I started feeling like a normal human again. I think you should see another doctor because it sounds like you are seeing a regular doctor not an endo unless whatever caused you to need to take the thyroid meds just happened. Your thyroid effects so many things that people don't realize. There's days when I take my meds like normal wait an hour before I eat and just totally feel like crap. Just something I had to get used to.

Thing is I feel totally fine! Just don't like the fact that my insulin levels are so damn high.

Well in my office it's endo/diabetic clinic. He should be able to regulate that but you need to see an endo. As picky as my levels are I would be scared to have a normal doc messing with my dose because I don't want to feel like shit because he thinks it should be changed.

LOL! I'm naturally hypothyroid bro.

I know dozens of people who were that too.. I had them go on a high green veggie diet and magically after 2 weeks they were normal. previously they were on the chicken finger/coke diet.. its all about diet my friend. get a juicer and drink a shit ton of kale juice everyday and then lets see what happens. you will see a huge difference there. the problem is people are too quick to jump on the drug bandwagon instead of fixing the diet deficiencies they have. the funny thing about every person i got their health turned around their doctors have claimed that they were never hypothyroid to begin with, they did not want to admit that all they had to do was change their diets.

this is the best advice you are gonna get, not what you want to hear but its the truth.
