Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below Today I was on the power bench getting ready to do bench press. I usually warm up with some light weight and then gradually go up. I was on my first warm up set, using dumbells when this guy puts a 45 on each end of the bar and says "You can work in with me if you want." So I got up and refused to work in with him. I guess this guy thinks becuase I was using light weight at the time, that he had the authority to take the bench? I just let it go, it was some older guy in his 40's.
This really upset me

I would have said, "Fuck You Bitch, you can wait your goddamn turn.!" But, I wouldn't have said that to a big juice monkey, so I guess it all depends on who is trying to take your bench.

Perhaps he was trying to motivate you to go farther....Have you seen him in your gym before? perhaps he has spotted you and thinks you could have done more then he's seen you with before...

Well that is what I would have done. Of course, being buffed like I am, I don't have to worry about someone trying some shit like that with me.

Man, you can't let people push you around like that. I've flat out told people: "Um, I'm kind of using that." and made them get the fuck away. What the hell are they going to do about it? "Kick my ass?" Lol.. the fight would be broken up in seconds and the money from the lawsuit would pay my gym dues for the rest of my life.

Not at all. There's a difference between "OH NO I FELL DOWN AT THE GROCERY STORE AND SUSTAINED ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE!" and "some asshole punched me in the face because I told him I was using a piece of gym equipment."

The bigger you get, the less that will happen, if someone goes near where Im working with the intent of stealing or working in without asking, I give them the "Bitch, you touch that and Ill put your head through that wall" look, then they quickly act like they were'nt doing anything and hurry away,at least the bigger dudes never do that, they are all cool for the most part and always ask to work in or how many sets u got left
Yeah I was using the dumbells to warm up. I do 10 percent of my working weight for 20 reps and then so on until I reach my working weight. Well I look up and over and see him putting 45's on the bar. He said "go on boy you're doing good don't stop." He totally throwed off my warm up routine. My bench sucks enough I don't need some guy messing it up more. He said "You can work in with me." I guess I could have but I would have been using the small plates and changing them again every 10 seconds. The point is he should have asked me if he could work in with me. We only have one power bench, which is crazy.

can say i hve the same problem, seeing as the halfwit that bought the gym took away the benchpress, along with all the other goodstuff. but ive found a new gym. going there sometime in the next coupla days, its sposed to be a little redneck but im sure ill cope
