Totally wrong. A problem, since there are many, is not that one wants to get rich or have material possessions, but that he is labeled greedy by those who do not have. Everyman is the sole determiner of his status in life and he alone has the say on what he is content with, what gives him happiness. The problem with "want" in the US is that people "want" without effort, without sacrifice, without drive, they simply "want". And when reality hits them in the face, that "want" alone is impotent without effort, they blame others who "have" and state that they are "greedy" and are the reason that they don't have.
No man has to work for wealth, if it is not his choice, but to despise those who do is to malign that which produces leaps and bounds in this world that we all benefit from. Without those who have given the world some part of their creativity and efforts, who are repaid in wealth, we would not have the luxuries of the modern world.
There will be some who try and show the examples of "bad" creations or wealthy men who have used their privilege despotically, but all men do this and all classes have done this.
