this isnt about patriotism... what is going on with the rescue efforts is far more simple than that... it is good and decent humanity... people are not donating blood to help their government or country, they want to help people... THIS IS HUMANITY!!!! i feel no special pride being american today, i watch the tv, i listen to the news casts, read the papers... i am proud of PEOPLE....

if this were to happen in another country and be of the same magnitude, the people there would be doing all they could as well...

why is our government to take no blame in this at all? isnt it our government who has forced its views, its right and wrongs on other nations for years??? i cant help but think that if our government minded its own business, this would never have happened. ironically, our government claims that we get involved in over seas situations for humanity and democracy...

By the way, thanks for telling me to fuck off in my thread earlier. Our government may force it's views on other countries, but it's in an attempt to lead people in the direction of democracy. You may think that people in other countries don't want our way of life, but that's only because their government has lied to them. I'm not saying our government hasn't lied to us, but it's over different things. I'm quite sure the people of these 3rd world countries would love to live like us, they just don't know it because they're government censors ALL of their information. Our government minding it's own business is part of the reason WWII was started. Isolationism is not the key. All that does is ignore the problems going on in other countries allowing it to spread to the rest of the world. We are the strongest country in the world, which puts us in a tough situation. We constantly have to straddle the fence on decisions of whether or not to step in on another countries problems. In our position, it's really tough to satisfy everyone, especially other countries, but I think we're doing as good a job that can be done, considering the circumstances.

NOBODY in the world expects this to be "talked out" as you put it in your thread... nobody wants that either... but to cry for blood of just anyone is insane... that is letting them win... that is just pissing off more people and causing even more people to want harm to come to the united states... if our nation is tactical and takes out exactly those responsible and does not do the same thing to "them" as we have had done to us (kill 10k innocent people), then we send a clear message... then we are above those that have harmed our way of life and at the same time we have shown any future enemy what wrath really is. basically, WE CANNOT STOOP TO THEIR LEVEL.

First off, I would like to point out to you that I never put the blame on any group of people. All I said in my thread is that they were terrorist, which they were. I never said anything about making a swift judgement. Of course I believe we should find out exactly who did it, and who was involved. Am I the only person who today is scared.....I think of my family, and I think of dubya (who I imagine is running round desparately looking for red buttons) and I'm scared.

Does everyone understand what war means these days? It's not just a case of a few explosives, more like a race to see who can be the first to hit the button for total wipeout.
