yep, we're a hippie liberal state allright. Look how we treat our "own". Think race has anything to do with it? Where you find tons of ghetto non-american shits locked-up, few give a shit. This is what happens. Same in other urban cities. Where you find large amount of criminal blacks and latinos - you get overcrowded shitty jails. The finger can be pointed lots of places of course.

In comparison - the oc jails are light years ahead. And most are released within hours. The middle class doesn't want to imprison people who come from their hoods too long.

If you don't like the status quo then vote. I like the status quo...I'm a middle class white male and unless I kill someone I won't see the inside of a jail cell for more than a few hours. Is it "fair"? No. Do I care? A little, but I don't want it to change anytime soon.

In the real LA (Louisiana) the answer would have been to not commit crimes and you wouldn't be in there...
