This is breaking my heart.


I have a home office so I'm home all day today. My neighbors just got a new puppy. This is his first day home alone. (They both left him in the back yard while they went to work.) He's scared and alone... and has been crying all morning.

There's an enormous temptation to go to the fence and scratch his nose... but I know that will just prolong his getting used to being by himself.

I'm going to go for a run... then do shoulders at the gym. I hope the little guy isn't when I come home.

But I know that will start the whole cycle over again. He's crying for someone to come so he won't be alone. If I go scratch his nose... he'll cry till I come back.

I came home and he wasn't crying. I think he is finally catching a nap.
