I hurt my arm a few weeks ago, and have begun the agonizing process of seeking medical attention.

I got the MRI results back yesterday, and the nurse told me that everything came back fine. When I told her I still had pain, she seemed baffled.

I ended up with a reference to an orthopaedic surgeon, but that guy can't see me for two weeks.

Found another doc who can get me in tomorrow, but I can't pick up the MRI until tomorrow...which would mean I'd basically have to have tomorrow off work to pick up the fucking MRI and take it to the fucking doctor at 1 to fill out fucking paperwork and then MAYBE get some kind of fucking indication as to what is wrong.

AND, I can't take the fucking day off because we have an entire fucking all day meeting.

What a pain in my fucking ass.

Pain in the fucking ass? Maybe you need to use more lube....

Sorry, doll face. I hope your boo-boo heals without having to go under the knife!

FZ, you have a PM back.

Thanks vixen...always remember...Eros rules.

I hope I don't have to go under the knife as well, but who knows. I'm more annoyed by the fact that my regular doc can't tell me shit and that I have to go fifteen different places before I even find anything out.

It wasn't until yesterday that I found out that an MRI can't even detect muscle tears. Whoopdie fucking do.

It's all a scam to get more money from your insurance provider by sending you to several docs for the same condition- IMO.

Bastard's just need to cut to the chase! No money in that though, right?

They have the nicest sports med. facility here in town! All the OS doc's and therapists are in one building. You can even get your MRI done there so the doc can read it while you're waiting!

I don't know that it's a scam as much as it's designed to crank as many people through as possible in the shortest amount of time. Then when you have something besides the flu, it takes 5 times longer.

Someone on another board said it might be tennis/golfer's elbow, but I have no external tenderness, so far as I can tell, and my wrist/hand position seems to have no bearing on the pain.

I hope it doesn't come to surgery either and that they will get their acts together. Good luck with it Project.

I'm sorry to hear that you'd owied Project. I hope you get your results back soon so you can make a plan for how to get better. Wishing you well.

Any chance you're having kittens?

Kittens, no...but there is an outside chance of mongooses.

mongooses? Mongeese? I'm not sure...

Sounds to me more like full blown hypocondria.

I hear she gives tremendous head.

Had to cancel the appt with the orthopedic surgeon because of work...around the same time, I took the brace off that the chiro gave me, and lo and behold, the burning sensation in the elbow is pretty much gone.

I don't get it.

But, I did ME bench last night with minimal pain. Weak as hell, but that's it.

Proj, was this injury just out of the blue?

Is the pain that shoots down your arm comparable to that tingling when you hit a nerve, or a pain under a weightload that you can hold on to, but it hurts so you know to quit?

Where on the elbow?

What have the docs said so far?

Well, out of the blue in the sense that I did it on one day...

It's worse than hitting a nerve...it's like a burning sensation. Not like anything I've experienced when lifting, that's for sure.

The pain on the elbow seems to start at the top (by top, I mean nearest the tricep) and radiate downward.

My GP didn't say much, but agreed with me that it was likely a strain or tear...the chiro says it's a strain and tendonitis, and the MRI didn't show anything.
