Thinking of starting a CKD

I've been reading all the recommended stuff about the CKD (Mr. X's manual/worksheet etc) and I am completely overwhelmed by the amount of information here. So I'm just going to list some of my questions and hopefully you guys can help me :)

-Is a CKD the right diet for me? I'm afraid I may be too skinny. 202 6-4. I havnt been able to measure my bf% with a caliper yet, but from waist measurements, it looks like i'm around 12-14%. Most of the weight is in my gut and thighs.

-If the CKD is not right for me, what would you recommend?

-As for supplements, I need multi vitamins/minerals, an eca stack during the low carb days and ala during the carb up day. What other supplements should I take?

-Is ala really necessary? What does it do?

-Should cardio sessions be in the morning?

-How intense should they be? Would running two miles in about 24 minutes be sufficient?

-How long should the depletion workout last?

-Can I work out right after I do cardio? Or should I wait until later in the day?

-What are the most common ways that people mess up when using using this diet?

Thats about all I can think of for now. I'm really new to this so talk like you would to a complete idiot :D

long a you're not diabetic I don't see why not. i'm 6'3" 172..Been using ckd for the past 3 weeks..started at a little under 180.

check here http://low-carb.org/lylemcd/faq.htm and scrol to aboutt he middle of the page and read from there.

helps shove carbs into your muscles on the carbup, annnnd can help you get into ketosi quicker if yout ake it after the carbup day also.

-Should cardio sessions be in the morning?
Take your pick of opinion..MS says this:
"This is one of those topics that is really made a LOT more complicated than it needs to be. The only time it MIGHT be important to do cardio FTITM is if you are seveerly insulin resistant, but even in this condition the most important thing is to get off your butt and burn some calories sometime during the day. The 'Myth' of the fat-burning concept is exemplified by women....in general women burn a higher percentage of fat for energy at any time of day and any time of month compared to men, yet you would hardly say that women are leaner than men!!! IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER for most individuals when they exercise, as long as they ARE exercisng AND creating a caloric deficit. It has nothing to do with which fuel or fuel ratio you burn while exercising. It's the metabolic environment you create over weeks and months that changes your body composition."

and Mr.X tends to agree (or so he has when i asked)

i guess do it if it gives you peace of mind.

-How intense should they be? Would running two miles in about 24 minutes be sufficient?

From what i've read, I'd say keep it moderate during the days your in ketosis, as supposedly cardio can burn some 3 grams of muscle in an hour when up above certain limits. I'd say no more than half hour moderate cardio.

-How long should the depletion workout last?

I'd say just do about 3-4 good loops or until you notice yourself becoming pretty weak and beat. Make sure you sike yourself out of ketosis before the depletion so you can deplete the glycogen out of your muscles during the workout. remember it's supposed to deplete glycogen, not ketones.

-Can I work out right after I do cardio? Or should I wait until later in the day?
do the workout first.

-What are the most common ways that people mess up when using using this diet?
eating too much protien/ not enough fat. Eating carbs. Not giving the diet enough time to work. Not carbing up correctly (carb ups turning to "fat ups")

Thats about all I can think of for now. I'm really new to this so talk like you would to a complete idiot :D
