Orlando is rather large. I guess it's nice. My sister lives in Orlando. She's puertorican and married to a puertorican. I hate going to Orlando to visit them only because I have to hang out with all them puertoricans. Not what I'm used to.

There are lots of job opportunities in Orlando.

A couple years ago, Orlando had the fastest Ubran Sprawl rate in the country which is a good and bad thing. Good because there are in fact many job opportunities bringing people in but bad b/c the "country" life is slowly dying. There are tons of suburbs of Orlando and some that are very nice like Windermere(Shaq among other stars have a house there), Winter Park, Metro West, etc. What type of work will you be looking for?

My brother went out here 6 yrs ago...went to school played, football(UCF). He loved it so much out there he decided to stay after he graduated. He bought a brand new 3 br townhouse dirt cheep 140000, and he open up a tanning salon business, & in 2 weeks he isopening up his second store. Hes loving it. It a great place to live, everybody is layed back, the area is real nice (everything is new). I am looking to go out there myself. I say go for it. If you decide to go..good luck!

that's the thing, i have computer certs like A+ net+ and a few mcp's but that's about it. i'm like 5 months away from my AA in Gen education but that wont get me anywhere. basicly i'm a college student with no real skills....i work at home depot now though and can probably transfer out there

Althought it's large in size/population, it acts like a small town in many ways
vs: a large city.. Still conservative in it goverment and laws.
It's an Ethnic Melting pot and yes, it has bad major Urban Sprawl..
Driving from one end of Greater Orlando either North South or East West can take
you an hour to drive unless you use one of the toll road expressways..
There are Many large Medical facilities so that probably means medical schools are here also. There are 2 major Hospital Chains that own most of the 20 or so hospitals.
"Florida Hospital" and "Orlando Regional Healthcare".
UCF has a pretty good nursing/medical programs
If you want to continue your AA education on the cheap, go with Seminole or Valencia Community Colleges.
You will be staying indoors in the A/C for 4 months of the year unless you are wearing a bathing suit. The rest of the year's weather is why everyone moves here, at least if they can get work..
On the east end of Greater Orl you are 30 Min from the beach (Cocoa)
One the West side it will take you 45-60 min depending on whether or not you use the toll roads..
Get used to paying tolls if you want to get anywhere fast across town.
Payscales are lower than most everywhere else, but then again the cost of living is lower so it evens out I guess.. Home Depots are all over the place..

I know it sounds crazy but it has happened.
Me being originally from NY, NJ. Now that I live in Florida...man!!! I ain't never going back! i went back about 2 years ago and I was disappointed to see such crap! Florida rocks bro! Miami is fucking nice...but I also love Orlando. Orlando is a fun town bro! Go!!!
