thinking about getting a 63 or 64 Impala this weekend

gtrcivic

Olympian
Both are in good shape and running without any leaks.. Going to check them out this weekend and offer $6,000 cash for them... 327/300 4bbl. 63 has orig engine, 64 has 67 engine in it... inspect it thoroughly and make the offer.. Kinda cool weekend car.

Figure spend a $100 every time i go out x 52 wks... about the same.. Just go out and not drink if i buy the car.

the '61 "bubble top" Impala gets better looking as it gets older.

my uncle had one........two tone turquoise/white, 283 and "three on the tree" transmission, fridge king round vents hang on a/c unit from that time period.

what i'd give for that car NOW!!!!!!!

Jesus, is that what those things are worth? My dad was the original owner of a 63 Impala until 2-3 years ago. I was embarassed to drive it in high school (80-81) but now I wish I had it to fix up. The Mexicans out here in LA would love it.

compared to the plastic, soul deficeint CRAP coming out of new car show rooms; older cars are looking better and better and better to me.

now, if i EVER get the chance to buy back the '64 Buick Riviera Gran Sport that i had in college............oof! i gotta go change my underwear now.

Whoa. You rule man.

I'll check the car out for anything thats not mentioned and if i like what i see, offer him $6,000 in cash on the spot... Kinda tempting not to let it go when cash is right in front of his face... As long as he agrees and gives me a clean title, i'll drive off with it on the spot. Register it with DMV and bring it to the meet at ESPN zone in Baltimore!!!

Who knows if he has people bidding up the price on the car... Always that possiblity.

Buick Grand National is one heck of a car..

what can i say............

old cars are my passion. my dad liked to joke that i learned to read not from "my weekly reader" or the "see spot run" type of books, but from "motor trend", "car & driver" and "hot rod" magazines.

when i first looked at the house i have now, my first thought was "hmmm....long driveway.....plenty of room for project cars"
