This is my 13 yr old niece who is dying from SMA (spinal Muscular Atrophy). She is always in a good mood, is a straight A student, a wise ass (like me), and ALWAYS smiles. She has a life span of less than 12 yrs (yes she is 13), but values life every day. She has use of only one hand and yet she never complains!
She makes me smile

Oh I will. she LOVES hugs! Oh and she loves shopping, oh yeah and boys, and make-up...heheh!
Imagine she has use of one good hand and she applies make-up like an make-up artist. And she just got her hair cut in that pic. She saw a style in a mag, called the salon, went there and got her hair cut. She is more independent than most ppl I know....she rocks!

she is gorgeous! i would imagine that's what you looked like when you were her age.

wow. that's amazing and definitely alot to smile about. especially when we make silly complaints about the things in our lives that really are miniscule in comparison.

Thanks....she really is a doll. We call her "Chucky" cause she is such a smart mouth typical teen..hehe!
She really does make life seem simple and less hateful.
It's not the quantity, it's the quality of time she has!

Thanks and yes we looked very much alike. She is actually cuter than I was cause I was not into fashion at 13. I was into weed and boys and levis jeans..haha!

it was his first experience with refined sugar. . .when it wore off, he just tipped-the-hell-over. . .out cold. . .

actually. . .now that i think about it. . .when my brothers and i get together and hit the bottle pretty hard, invariably, one of us ends up looking pretty much like that. . .sans pj's with feet in them. . .guess it runs in the family :whatever:

LOL, my nephew has toys, and I mean a ton of them at home, a ton of them at grandma's house, a ton at aunt's house and now is working to fill up mine.

I am laughing my ass off as I type, My nephew does this too, my cousin's oldest doesn't but I but I bought my cousin's youngest a blowup astronaut that is about the same size as he is and the first thing he did? Let loose an evil giggle and throw it off the deck.

And they say he is just like me when I was his age. I am so going to be an enabler.

as long as I can remember my son takes things apart. I could go in his room and in the bottom of toy box or dresser is full of things he took apart with screws everywhere....lol
they never got put back together either.

He is 14 now and it has really come in handy.....even though he never put anything back together (that I know of) he seems to know how things work. I had a broken toliet for the longest time that kept leaking and I'll be damn if he didn't fix it for me :) I was so proud. lol

I still need my garbage disposal replaced...hummm, I wonder if he can do that

I know I am supposed to discourage this behavior, but it is so damn funny. Out of no where he just chucks things across the room. If he is told to share a toy after a vehement MINE! he chucks the toy across the room instead of handing it over.
I love the kiddo.
 
when I know ive helped one of the kids at work through a crisis and they give me a big hug and thank me for listening, hands down the best feeling in the world.

too bad work always calls me in on my days off which results in large amounts of stress

hearing her say "i love you mommy" approx every 5 minutes at random or if there's a silent moment. (yea, right...like 'silent' ever happens in my house)

engaging/stimulating conversations

flowers for encouragement (it happened yesterday...god blessed me with some of the most amazingly caring people in my life)

cynically clever witty sarcastic lil sheets. (you all know who you are)

the obvious......FOOD.
 
I have posted them many times.
My 3 babies make me smile the most. Well they are a handful and at times a bit over bearing they are my world. What keeps me going in the morning.
Just seeing their smiles or hearing there dorky giggles makes me the happiest and luckiest woman around.
