rights we have lost or are about to lose and violations of the founding principles of this country since bush has been prez
1. privacy of our email (under the patriot act read your email without a warrant under the assumption you are a terrorist)
2. privacy of our financial transactions (patriot act again)
3. privacy of our reading material, the govt keeps tracks of what books you check out of the library (patriot act again)
4. banning ephedra, a violation of our right to do as we please with our own bodies
5. proposed banning of prohormones, dhea and creatine
6. Freedom of speech, the decency hearings are proposing censorship of media of all sorts
7. Violation of human rights with the proposed banning of gay marriage, although I don't agree with gay marriage personally,, it is a violation of human rights, imagine if blacks were not allowed to marry whites,, it is the same thing in reverse, this goes back once again to the freedom to chose and be who you are
8. proposed destruction of what the constition stands for,, a proposed constitutional ammendment banning gay marriage,, Thomas Jefferson and our founding fathers plainly stated they intended the constitution to protect personal rights not restrict them. This ammendment would be a violation of this principle. There are no other amendments that restrict our rights. The only exception to this was prohibition and we all know how well that worked
9. Violation of seperation of church and state, Bush has all but officially endorsed one religion as our national religion. I am a christian and believe this is wrong. The reason our forfathers came here is because of religious oppression and thus the reason for seperation of church and state.Bush has destroyed this founding principle of our country. Imagine only being allowed to be a baptist and being jewish is illegal. I know this is far fetched but this is what our forefathers feared could happen and the reason for seperation of church and state.
I am sure I missed a few,, feel free to add more if you know of any
