I guess it depends on what you're being treated for. If it's more general therapy that you need - e.g. to help with low mood; relationship troubles; low self-esteem; work difficulties... - then searching the yellow pages should be a good enough method of finding someone. However, if it's more specialised help that you need - e.g to treat a behavioural disorder; a mood disorder; a phobia; a personality disorder - then it's probably better to call a hotline that caters for people with these difficulties, and ask them whether they can suggest someone in your area. Failing that you could contact your local hospital and ask them or just make an appt. to see your GP and ask for a referral.

GIVES

Example: gives advice Example: gives medicine.
Remember too... whoever you start out with... you don't need to stick with. If you aren't getting results... find someone different. Some therapists will take your money week after week and not really have a clue how help you. Others can have you in... help you get great results... and tell you after three visits that you realy don't need to come any more.
