The Zodiac Killer Finally Found?

From what i get the guy just died and his stepson was going through his things and decided to open up that old PA system. He also things the guy killed his mom.

Those photos creeped me out. I read the first zodiac book when i was 15 and it freaked me out then. I still had the images of that knife and black costume in my head when i looked at those pictures. And the handwriting too.

Fuck!

OMG! I have always assumed that the zodiac killer had either died or gone to prison on other charges because the killing stopped so abruptly back in the 70's. Those handwriting samples are something else if they can prove that they actually came from Jack Tarrance and not the son who seems set on getting a book deal.

Anyone struck by the fact that the killer/father in the book "The Shining" was named "Jack Torrence?" Creepy coincidence.

A zodiac nerd? :nerd: I love it!

I would like to see this case closed so i'm kind of partial to this panning out. The SFPD had just officially closed the case not long ago.

That Shining connection is creepy.

I've had an odd fascination with following serial killer cases since I was a child. I almost joined the FBI a few years back as I was approaching the cut off age.

I never thought about it HR, but you right about the name. I loved The Shining. Did you know Steven King hates that movie. He thinks the characters are "cold", I guess he means you really didn't know much about them? I dunno, I thought and still think its brilliant.

Interesting you thought of that.

I think the 3 of us are cold lol. What is the fascination with this stuff? I know what you are talking about HR. The Zodiac was the only case i really got into but i have read or studied several others at least briefly. There's something about this case. The idea that he got away with it and taunted the public in such a way that he actually had power for a while.

Very very dark.

The problem that I had with the movie is that it misrepresented the character of the father. In the book he was a normal loving father who just had a bad drinking problem. The hotel was the main character and you knew it was the hotel that was evil and influenced the father and lead him to insanity. In the movie Jack Nicholson doesn't make the transition well. He seemed to evil and crazy right off the bat and didn't have that pathetic and manipulated vibe he needed to have to reveal what was really going on in the story.

So, yeah, the character development was all wrong and Jack misplayed it.
