On a more realistic note, Ah-nold made a good point in Terminator 3. Judgement Day (machines attaining AI) is inevitable. Moore's Law about processor speed & advancing technology has held true so far. We can do nothing but delay a "judgement day".

Stephen Hawking, quite possibly the smartest humans ever, has said that one of the biggest threats to mankind is AI. 275 IQ talking there, folks.
