I don't know if this threat has been discussed before here. But please don't dismiss this or be apathetic..

The supplement industry in the UK is seriously under attack. Germans and French (and other Europeans) haven't been able to buy supplement vitamins and herbs for a long time.. The E.U is now demanding that the UK steps inline and stops selling many supplements and reformulates other supplements into low strength versions. The pharmaceutical/political nonsense machine is again seeking to detsroy the 'supplement' competition..

The first vote went through unchallenged. One more vote in November and supplements will dissapear from our shelves forever in March. Everything is at risk.. B-complex, inositol, creatine, ginkgo, vitamin C, 5HTP, kava, zinc, tyrosine, taurine, glucosamine, etc etc. Many of these will go. All we will be able to buy is a selection of RDA strength vitamins. Think you are safe in the USA? Think again.. the same could happen there if the pharmaceutical industry has it's way..

Please if you live in the UK - go into Holland n Barret and sign the petition. Pick up a leaflet whilst you are there.. If you are feeling a bit more energetic - write/email your MP explaining that you derive benefit from health supplements:

I think supplements can help many health conditions. I think this move is wrong. Apparently it is ok to drink yourself stupid and smoke yourself to death - but you cannot choose to take vitamin and herbal supplements.

Also when you drink yourself stupid or smoke yourself to death you can potentially kill inocent people either on a car accident or by second hand smoke cancer.
Even if supplements were bad for yourself you were not puutting other people's ass on the line.

zoloft: 100 mg $128 per 28 tabs -> expensive, many sides
5-HTP: 50 mg 60 tabs $14.95 -> cheap, few sides.

5-HTP is very effective, just like the other supps they want to ban here.

It seems to me that the EU is one fucked up organisation. I wish we have never joined them. NL is going to end up like a feodalistic state.

It is funny that now Belgium is banning fluoride from toothpaste, chewing gum etc. I guess the dentists in Belgium lack patients .

This legislation is fucking disgusting, I have e-mailed my MP, and all of the MEP's for the north west (who seem to be split between supporting our views and ignoring my email), and I have signed the petition in holland and barrett.
