The Sleepers

What's the required amount of rest a person should have at night? Is sleeping in good after staying up late? Or should I have a set time and have an early morning?

8 to 9 hours is ideal. Some people can make it up in naps throughout the day - but I think most find that to throw their sleep schedules off.

i wish i slept 8 hours a night, lately ive only been getting in about 5-6, but i make up for it by taking some naps

Just wondering because i usually don't get to bed around 12 or 1, then I have to wake up at 5:45 and get ready for school while I watch Sportscenter, then after I'm home I'll usually take a nap. I didn't know if it was good for me because my naps are usually long and if it would affect my diet because I'm not getting in food. I think I'll take an earlier crash...maybe 9, so I can eat during the day. Sound good to you guys?

yeah, you want to get as much sleep as you can - within reason. You dont grow when you workout, you grow when you sleep. I find schedules work REALLY well for me. If you can get in the routine of going to bed at 9 every night then you will get some pretty good sleep - though this will probably be hard to do. Set time deadlines. Deadlines = motivation.

admittedly I dont always follow my own advice, but this is what works for me.
