Alright...
Last tuesday night I left from AR to head to KC MO to drop my brother off at my grandma's house. First leg of the trip went well (6 hours). Me, my gf, roomate, and brother were making the trip.
After dropping him off at midnight we went to the casino and stayed until 4:30 AM. We left the casino and headed towards Denver. Around 1 the next afternoon we got to Denver. My roomate began having chest pain and shortness of breath. He checked his heart rate and it was around 120. At first we thought it was just altitude sickness or something and just kept driving. His symptoms became worse and we went to the hospital. They just thought he had drank too much caffeine and had become dehydrated. after that adventure we went to a hotel and stayed the night. The next day it took 3 hours to make it from Denver to Keystone and we just decided to stay in that night and rest after renting snowboards.
The next morning the same symptoms reoccured and we took him to the medical center in Breckenridge. Same story, altitude sickness and dehydration (although he wasnt dehydrated). They gave him some stuff to make him relax, and some oxygen and sent us home. Long story short he wasnt satisfied with those results and took the next flight home and spent 3 days in the hospital for a PULMONARY EMBOLISM(blood clot in his lung blocking blood flow). Holy fucking shit! Those physicians mistakes could have cost him his life. He's in his mid 20's and in good shape. It would have taken a simple dye test to show the clot. For anyone that doesnt know, throwing clots like that kills you most of the time.
(more to come, but that was only half the hospital visits of the trip)
