It's 8 pm and you're still at your job

then someone has the great idea to order something to eat so that you can work a bit more....

15 min later you stand in front of pizzas and pan-fried stuff (chicken ?) + some cans of soda (regular, not a single diet one)

What do you do ?

Did the company pay for it?? If so, I'd eat a couple slices of plain or veggie pizza & drink water. The chicken is fried? I may pick off the coating or just avoid it.........

Never turn down a free meal.....

Hey, I've been there. It's like all companies think all their employees want is doughnuts and muffins and soda.

You never see raw veggies and dip, fruit, or anything healthy do you?

Makes you wonder. And pisses you off!

Go hungry, or eat garbage - that is the question at hand. Which is worse, not eating and slowing down your metabolism, etc. Or nibbling a bit and trying to call it a "meal".

Damn jobs!

That stuff happens daily...its a lifestyle youre trying to live, i think, well i am so i wouldn't even consider it

The main issue is that most people don't understand you (or take you for a chick, a gay or think you're insane) if you tell them you don't like the pizza + coke combo

Don't do it! I don't know your history (whether you are dieting ...what phase of dieting / training you are in) but I can tell you that if you are eating clean, you should not give in to temptation! Your hard work has brought you so far...don't let pizza (however tempting it is) win over you!

That's my opinion...I would not do it!
 
as has been mentioned several times already, it's life. deal with it and make a shake or bring some chicken next time. If you eat it because it's there, thats fucked up.

at my job we're drowing in free food.. everynight it's pizza, kfc or whatever.. kitchen full fo candy and soda. just use a little willpower bro
 
If it is once in a while then eat it. If this is a regular thing then you gotta ignore the fact it is there...
 
This is a joke. It depends on two things period. What are you goals? Do you have a contest next month or is training a hobby? AND, what is your genetic compound. My brother could eat pizza 7 times a day and look good. I look at it, and my abs disappear. No one can say, eat it, don't eat it. Cmon...............


For me, I know that I will feel like total ass when I'm done, so I leave the shit alone......that's the biggest problem.
 
It depends how serious you are. seems to me some people take life too seriously. Some people get to their goals without sweating to much on the way. being a perfectionist might get you to your goals but you gotta ask if its only about reaching your goals or if the way there is also important. I prefer to enjoy life a bit also... Some people gotta lighten up.......
 
I try and schedule my cheats in to my life. when i did my carb up for CKD id make sure to start it off with junk food, so body was still in ketosis when i ate the fat and carbs, and then have that first meal when i was going out with some buddies or something.
If it ment bringing my carb up a day, or pushing it back. so be it.
But assuming you didnt preapre and your absolutely stuck.
Then have a piece or two. Just pace yourself, its not gonna ruin your diet.
 
I agree with Allon. If it's your job, then maybe you'd want to avoid the pizza. If you're just training as a hobby, why? Enjoy life! It'll only happen once! Happy mediums, people. All clean all the time is a pain in the ass, and the rewards won't justify all the stress of not eating a bit sloppy every so often. Eating like a pig and having all the tastiest food in the world will inevitably make you...gross.

Both extremes - bad.
 
Also, the fact most of us here work out all the time means we CAN eat more junkfood than other people without worrying too much :) Not saying we should all the time, but once in a while will hurt us less than it would the general population. Too often will make getting to goals harder but as long as it is not a daily habit, nothing bad is gonna happen. (Just keep away from macdonalds because they have cardboard in the burgers that make it impossible to digest)
 
Am I missing something? Can you not go and get something else, or order it to the office, something with it your diet?

I don't understand, did you not know you were going to be at work at that time, if you did then what were you going to eat in the first place?

Good point. However, I think what someone brought up earlier was also an important point - it's harder for men to deny the pizza in front of a group than it is for a woman. Men are expected to eat anything while it's understandable if a woman is "dieting".

Here's a situation I got into this morning and I thought of this thread... tell me what you think of this:

No offfense, but I'll starve......MAYBE, I'd have a slice of pizza under your circumstances, but a brownie?

Actually, you NEVER EVER have to run into this problem. Right now, I have at a minimum, a protein bar, a tuna pouch, a MRP packet EVERYWHERE.....my house, my car, my office, the gym, in my suit jacket pocket (after I put it on, of course.....) Seriously, failing to plan is.....well, you know the rest......the reason I say this is I have a pretty hectic lifestyle and it's been at least 5 years since I missed a meal/snack or had to eat something I didnt want........is there more to life? Sure there is. I just haven't found it yet..
 
Sometimes you can't plan in advance

An example that happened to me not too long ago

I was at the office, still working at 9pm
I was going from one meeting to another
I had no clue when I could go home
We then decided to have a 5 minutes break

the pizza were already waiting for us
I couldn't escape, go out to buy some other stuff
So it is either eat pizza or look at the other eat pizza

I decided not to eat and when I got home I did enjoyed my can of tuna a lot

I agree a pizza once in a while won't kill anybody but when I want to have a cheat meal I take some other food than pizza

lol ... Kurz .. you literally crack me up sometimes bro with your reactions. You make it sound like the guy was planning to eat shit! lol.

This is happened to me many times bro .. I dont have a problem telling people that I am dieting, because what can they say in return? Look at us .. we are all fat and dont give a shit? lol. If I was hungry, and wasnt going to eat anything if I didnt eat the pizza, I would eat it. I would probably down a couple r-ala, and have 1 slice to hold me over til I get home, and tell your co-workers you are not that hungry if they give you a hard time. In all honesty bro, if your diet is good 90% of the time you will be fine. Eating a few slices of pizza one night arent going to make your abs dissapear, and it will probably do a little good for your sanity. Just make it your cheat day, and scratch your next one. As long as my diet is tight 5-6 days a week, I am happy, and the results dont differ than if I throw a cheat meal in. I think that you and others are thinking a little to hard about this. If you are hungry, and wont get to eat ... then eat some pizza. If you dont want it ... then dont eat it. Very simple.

Mav - all i was saying was there REALLY is no excuse.........if you want to, sure go ahead and have some......but to say you were forced is complete bs............I'm not against people eating whatevr they want whenever they want, dont get me wrong....but the excuse that I couldnt help it pisses me off................

In honour of this thread I ordered a whole pizza at work the other day.
Wow it was tasy. Ate 5 slices, put the rest on top of the fridge for later, about 4 hours later shared a slice with a mate here and ate the other two myself, 7 slices all together. Felt great. Actually had my best workout in the past two weeks the next day. I don't think if I did it every day it would be so good, but it did me no harm at all.
I must repeat though that had it been macdonalds, it may have been a different story...

Thank youuuuuuuu. I work from 6pm-6am 12 hrs and I pack 7 meals everyday. YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET THE RESULTS YOU WANT :chomp:

Just so everyone is well aware...........our Israely friend ALLON hit me with red karma for my posts on this board saying we should all plan ahead. He's a great asset to this board and I would like everyone to gather around and listen to all the helpfull information he has to share with us such as ordering a large pizza............hey Allon, I'm sorry you dont have what it takes, but you really should find another hobby...........this life is just not suited for some and you are one.........end of story.

True, but just take a look at their bodies and then look at your own!! Everyone can shove crap food down that's why the population is overweight and unhealthy. It's easier to be fat than be fit.

What he's saying is 100% true... if you wanted to NEVER cheat, it's very possible to do. Sometimes it has to do with with willpower, while other times it has to do with how much you want to stick to that plan. I'll be the first to admit that my diet isn't as 100% clean cut as his simply because I choose for it to be that way. He is more focused on his physique than I am. Is this an excuse for lack of willpower? Not at all. Do NJRipped and JKurz have extreme willpower? Not really. With most of the people on this board who have their shit together it's about how they choose to go about this lifestyle. You'll find a bunch of different people with hot bodies who eat differently. There's nothing wrong with any way you go about it as long as you know exactly what you're doing and how it relates to your goals.

That is enough of my rant for now. I just don't see the reason for hitting someone with red if they didn't say something offensive directed toward you. Red isn't for someone whose opinion you disagree with.

uuuhhhuuuuhhhh...amen sister!

I eat like I want, even when I was dieting, I ate a shit load, I just didnt eat certain things during certain times. And I know plenty of people that eat crazier than I do and have a leaner physique than me, but they control what they do!!
