it is not forgiving and there is reward given to "camping" - less running amok shooting and more realism - which is inherently boring.

I don't think camping would be boring if they had some kind of AI soldiers running around that I could snipe. I ordered the game but still haven't gotten anything. If the U.S. Army is anything like Blizzard Entertainment, we probably won't see anything for another year or two.

actually, it was just paid for by the army - it was done by Epic - the people that did Unreal - so I'm assuming it likely is just a port that uses that engine - which is far easier than designing from the ground up.
just need a modelling team and maybe a change in the ai logic.

I know... I just wanted to take a cheap shot at Blizzard. Hasn't Warcraft III been in development since Starcraft came out? Oh well.. they can't be any worse than Origin. Origin cancelled Ultima Online 2 in order to fix Ultima Online 1 which has been broken since its release 390423432 years ago. ahhhh

I used to love doing that in Rogue Spear. I don't see anything wrong with camping really. If you know the guy is camping room X, then why is it so hard to kill him? Shit if everyone hates campers so much then gang up on him and kill him. I never used to complain about campers in Quake 3 because I found them much easier to kill... I knew where they were but they didn't know where I was coming from.

Rogue Spear was hilarious though. I especially loved putting fake heartbeat sensors and then raping people when they came to get me.
