The Good: Cedar Point, Kings Island, The Tribe, Change of Seasons, Oktoberfest at Athens U., High Street at Colubus, Bowling Green University.

The Bad: Winter, Lorain, Lake Erie, Dreary Skies all the damn time, The Cavs, The Bengals, the Reds, The weather.

The Ugly: Rivers that catch on fire, The shores of Lake Erie, The many dead fish that wash up due to Cleveland, Toledo, Lorain, and their pollution.

Worst part of Ohio is the mullets! As far as the eyes can see.

I like OSU football, but most of Columbus sucks IMO. And what kind of name is Olentangy? That name bothers me.

true.. there are quite a few things to hate about ohio.. but there are some aspects about ohio that i've never found anywhere else.. and i've been alot of places..

i.e.:

the sunsets.. i've lived in florida, japan, cali, hawaii, etc.. and still.. have never seen more beautiful sunsets than i see in ohio..

the air... this is by far the cleanest air i've ever breathed

the smell of fresh cut grass... shoot.. just having real grass is a bonus..

the open fields.. and the fireflies that dance above them in july and august..

the four seasons.. all equally unique..

the cleveland browns.. the most dedicated fans in football

cost of living.... $275k where i live now buys you a 4 bed 4 bath house with 50 acres... $275k in vallejo, 30 miles north of san fran buys you a 2 bed 1.5 bath ranch with no basement and a one acre lawn..



you do have some bad though...

jim traficant.. the most embarrassing, ignorant fucking representative in congress..

youngstown.... at one time the largest illegal gamblling spot between atlantic city and vegas... now second on the handgun murder rate per capita list

the cavs.. as you mentioned..

the unemployment rate.. sky high.. and climbing..

etc etc..

The bad: Cincinnati

The ugly: Cincinnati police

As for Traficant- c'mon, support a homeboy. Anybody that goes from a Sheriff tried for mob ties to Congress and has that bad of a rug deserves our support. Who else could supply that much entertainment over 3 decades?

Ditto on the Flats - with Fado, the Basement and breweries shut down, Panini's and the Beachclub are the only placed worth going to on the East side (Circus is a given).

Warehouse district and Lakewood are the places to go.

Those of you who think Ohio is bad, let me tell you, you don't know what hell is until you've lived in rural Nevada. It's populated almost exclusively by bigoted Mormons, and people with all their teeth are rare. In fact, rural Nevada has some of the ugliest people I've ever seen. Maybe limiting factors in the gene pool? So my point is, don't knock Ohio. It could be worse!

A river caught on fire once. It's been cleaned up and will never happen again. Erie has been cleaned up. In fact, it is so clean, new problems are arising because of it. Fish kills are from harsh winters, not a dirty lake. Look it all up bud. That is old, old stuff your spewing.

Winters are great! Loved 'em, miss 'em terribly. Lake Erie is sweet as hell, especially the Bass Islands. Pretty sunny over my head, however, I wouldn't mind a few more clouds. It's easier on the ole eyes. The weather is pretty sweet. The summers are not very extreme and the humidity is not bad at all. Where I'm at now, in the river valleys, you bake and melt at the same time. Wicked stuff. Reds....love 'em. Bengals do suck and I respect the Browns but, as a lifelong Steeler fan, I hate them at the same time. Grand Lake is one of the greatest little secrets you'll ever find. OSU rules!
