Is it true that every time a financial institution checks your credit that the score actually goes down?

You can contact each credit group once per year and get it for free. There are 3 groups. So if you contact one group every 4 months you can view it 3 times per year for free.

I signed us up for the 3 in 1 with TransUnion. It is like $16 a month for updates and alerts and stuff like that. Worth it in my eyes.

I actually work for a large credit card issuer - There’s a number (ill see you can find it) that prevents unsolicited companies from checking your score (which over time lowers it)

I thought when you signed up for the free credit reports you only got the actual report and not the score.

Yes and no. It does not go down each time but views add up and can drop it 10-20 pts after a couple of hits.

No you get the report and score. Well at least with Transunion I did.

I thought when you signed up for the free credit reports you only got the actual report and not the score.
