Anyway
I need to vent after I just watched an interview with a Doctor and he was discussing Steroids, Hormones, etc...(it originally aired on PBS about 1 year ago)
a few highlights:
This Dr. claimed to be an expert on Anabolics and Hormone Therapy..please..he went on to tell a caller that DHEA will cause testicular shrinkage in 80% of its users and cause severe aggression..He also claimed DHEA can cause peliosis hepatitis (blood filled cysts on the liver)...WITH DHEA!!!!! this actually is true of ANADROL.... but C'mon doc!
he continued..."Oxandrolone has very little therapeutic value if any".....please....tell AIDS/Trauma patients that. Also..go to most Oxandrin web pages and read the testimonials about how it "changed my life.."..and "thanks to Oxandrin"...yeah..this relates to medical conditions, but for a Dr' to make such a broad statement to millions of viewers should be as illegal as selling it on the street..seriously.
he mentioned to another caller that ALL steroids are products of testosterone (just altered..true), and that ALL steroids cause aggression and irreversible side effects..regardless of type, oral or injectable...this Dr. fails to mention that there are at least 100 different types of Anabolic Steroid and many react differently depending on dose, etc... nope..again terrible info, should be illegal.
and yep..he mentioned Lyle Alzado...not his use of cadaver HGH..but just that his death was "most-probably" due to steroids......ummmm can I get an updated steroid death story..I'm fucking sick of the Lyle A. one..no..why not?.....BECAUSE THEY DONT EXIST!!!!!!! yes..steroids can kill........yes..St. Josephs aspirin can can kill....i'm pissed.
Bro's..I know this is old news...but WTF...I dont even care if Roidz are illegal...hell...i dont even use them (yet)
Why do we get such conflicting info from news, magazines, Dr's????? Would it be so hard to regulate the info given to the public...could we start our own "truth" thing like the anti-cigarette people do? hell...a campaign like that would probably save the 2 people that die every 10 yrs from steroid use. Education is the key...we need to "infect" some minds outside our little internet world. Its a sad case when a medical professional tells an aspiring athlete that "protein supplementation can case irreversible kidney damage and hinder athletic performance"....says freakin who??????? I have a M.S. Degree in Exercise Physiology and NOWHERE does it say this is true.
The Media, Doc's, and ESPECIALLY sports writers (dont get me started on them...fat lazy bastards who would LOVE to juice and be athletes)..should be accountable for their statements...especially when speaking at a major conference or to millions of viewers.which includes todays youth and future athletes.
Proper Education is all I ask...and this board definitely delivers...............Amen.
