Yes it does, but Fight Club was a better overall movie IMO. The original matrix is my second favorite movie, though.

If they had made matrix more gloomy and less effects I would have liked it better as an intellectual movie, but a lot of the effects done were to just get the attention of mainsteam america and collect money. The many special effects are cool but kinda make it cartoonish and take away from the real plot which is amazing.

The fight scene with 100 Agent Smiths VS Neo was one of the best ever in my opinion, and believe me Have i seen films with action and fight scenes in my time
