I've actually recently started liking them. Once you hear the songs a few times and get familiar with them, they grow on you like a small fungus or something. It's cool.

Did you see that Playboy 50th party?

They had The Chicagos playing!!!

LOL wtf???
They're still around?

Lame. May as well bring back The Bostons.

Bullit, haven't we already established that the only thing you like to listen to is overly repetitive techno music?

I saw The Def Leppards in concert back in the 80's.

They sucked.

Page and Plant were great, but that band would be nowhere without the thunderous power drumming of John Bonham. No wonder they broke up after he died. They knew.

word. actually, i think they could've had a good reunion if htey didn't screw over JPJ. although Bonham was a great drummer, there are a few other incredible drummers out there that would mesh well in his stead.

Jason Bonham had that sound down well. Not as good as pops, but at least he could copy him and not be criticized too much. That’s who I thought they were going to use, but then it never happened. :(

On JPJ; I always thought he was the weakest link but still, he was a part of that band throughout, so they should have shown him some consideration.

There is talk about a Zeppelin reunion tour with Jason Bonham playing the drums. I can't remember exactly the reason as to why it won't come about. Something about Bonham and a drug problem perhaps? I'm not sure.

Perhaps that's why he wasn't asked to join Plant and Page when they did their little get together tour.

Yeah that would suck if he bought the farm like his dad. At the same time you have to wonder if the music would have been as good without the drugs. I’d argue that the best rock music ever was written under the influence of drugs. What if Slash & Axle weren’t living in the back of their van on Sunset Blvd. shooting heroin—would we have ever had an Appetite for Destruction? The list goes on and on…

I disagree about Jones, in addition to the bass he also played all the keys and did a lot of work on the arrangements. He wasn't flashy, but he was an integral part to their overall sound.

The Led Zeppelins were pretty cool...

I hated the Journeys, the Kansases, The Styxes, The Yeses, The Survivors and the Duran Durans.

I agree, but I also think The Leds were bad.

The Survivors had that one Rocky song that I dug when i was young.

The Lead Zepplins?

I need to come do shit hole canada and beat you with a guitar till you are learnt to appreciate real music. Once I'm done with the beating I will strap to a chair and force you to listen to Zepplin, Hendrix, The Who, The Yard Birds, MOUNTAIN and Humble Pie.

I like dread zeppelin too. fucking kick ass.

Hell yeah. I saw them live in Colorado Springs some years back.

They were fucking awesome. The Fun Sessions is probably my favorite album of theirs.

Good list.

Humble Pie "Rockin' the Fillmore" and The Who "Live at Leeds" are particular favorites. I don't think I've gone longer than a week since 1971 without listening to "Leeds" at least once.

But don't forget The Beat Farmers...

Over the years I have replaced most of my old vinyl with CDs, but I barely listen to it anymore. I like current stuff. Seventies rock was great music—probably the best rock-n-roll ever written/recorded, but as good as it is (or was) I just can’t listen to it anymore. Hell, I can hardly even listen to eighties or nineties rock anymore. To me, rock is about what’s current, young, rebellious, loud and obnoxious. There is no such thing as classic rock IMO. Rock-n-Roll wasn’t meant to be classic.

Staying on topic;

Question: What is the best Led Zeppelin song NOT written by Led Zeppelin?

Answer: "Get It On" by Kingdom Come (great song)
