ALA. I have been useing this now for a couple of weeks. Last week, I took a few days off from training. I have been feeling
exhausted as of late, so I wanted to avoid overtraining. I still
have been taking ALA at about 3 to 4 grams per day. I have
been eating fairly low carbs, high protien and mod fats. Still
doing about 2 gallons of water a day. Last couple of days, I
cut carbs even lower. I then check the keto sticks...Negative!
Now I am getting frustrated. Taking in LESS carbs and STILL
not even the slightest bit keto. That night, check the sticks
NEGATIVE again. Next day I take in about a total of 40g carbs.
Check the sticks...NEGATIVE! Now I am starting to doubt ALA
and cursing and all in a funk. I commence working out on
Sunday with a CRAZY back/shoulder/biceps workout. Just a quick,
HIT session that damn near killed me. I ate a bagel before, with
a half a gram ALA, followed by an Ultra-Fuel with Whey Isolate
and 1 gram ALA post workout. Go home, 15 minutes later...MODERATE!! About an hour later I eat some chicken quasadilla (carb city) and ANOTHER gram of ALA. Check the sticks
15/20 minute later...MODERATE!!
So, the conclusion to my drawn out spewing is that their are
two things necessary to get the most out of ALA.
1. HEAVY TRAINING- It has to be HARD! I was working out with
my friend and doing 1 arm dumbell rows. This has to be one
of the most taxing (if done correctly) exercises. He was like " Cant
we just use one of those machines?" I was like "Go the fuck home
you baby!" HEAVY TRAINING!!
2. CARBS- I was thinking if I take in lower carbs and ALA then
shit, I'll be set!! WRONG!! Ranger said to up the carbs and I
didn't listen. UP THE CARBS!! You will not get fat IF you are following number 1.
