After reading the thread going on right now about inspirational quotes etc, I decided to post up something that I wrote a couple years ago. I've considered posting it up before, but just never have. Anyways, I hope some enjoy it and maybe it provides a lil extra motivation to someone. I still re-read it from time to time when after I take a short lay off and need something to jumpstart my attitude. Ok, here it is....
You have a job
But this is where you work
There are no benefits
You miss a day and you spend the rest of the week hating yourself
There won't be a check waiting for you this Friday
Your only pay will be knowing that you have to do it all again next week
Everyone else says they have better things to do
That's what seperates those few from everyone else
Nobody cares if you don't show up
Nobody cares if you do
You do it for yourself
They'll care when you're 260
But they won't care to hear excuses when you're not
You've never done enough
That was good, but it should've been more
It'll be more next time
It better be
Your body hates you for what you put it through
You hate your body, so you put it through even more
It can't change you
But you know you'll change it
Get stronger or die trying
Choice is yours
You've already made up your mind
You can't wait until tommorow to see how sore you are
Tommorow you can't wait for the soreness to go away so you can get even sorer the next time
You pray to God that he lets you walk through heaven when you die
And pray that he lets you go through hell when you walk in here
You spend most of your life trying to avoid pain
But for this short time everyday, you do everything you can to find the most of it
These walls, these mirrors....... they make pain feel good
And remind you that what doesn't hurt, hurts you the most
In here, success is measured by how often you find failure
And failure only happens when you think you've found success
You have a long way to go
A longer way to go when you get there
You're alone, going up against yourself
While competing against thousands
Your goals are unattainable
They move futher away the closer you get
Being happy with what you have means that you've given up on what you wanted
So you hope that you're never happy, and you know you'll never give up
This is the price of what you want
The cost of your dream
What you need to pay won't be found in your wallet, or in the bank
You'll pay with sweat, pain, and sacrifice
You'll find it all in your heart, your soul, and your character
Do you know who you are?
Are you who you want to be?
Are you willing to pay the price?
Look into a mirror
Deep into your own eyes
And ask yourself
"Can I afford it?"
