The french....AGAIN!

looks like the french are not done. They are now threatening to veto the settlement between libya and the victims families of the lockerbie bombing. They are basically trying to piggyback the US deal to get more money for their tragedy. I have no problem with them trying to get more money for their people, but to use the american victims as pawns is disgusting. The problem is that the french have already accepted their deal.
It just goes to show you what kind of people the french are.

"It's ridiculous. It's blackmail," Glenn Johnson, whose daughter Beth Ann died at the age of 21 in the bombing, said after the families were briefed by Secretary of State Colin Powell and Assistant Secretary of State William Burns.
Rosemary Wolfe, whose 20-year-old step-daughter Miriam died in the mid-air explosion, quoted Burns as calling the French position "unconscionable."
"The question (for the French) would be what are you doing? Why are you doing this? You made a deal with the Libyans. You did it against our advice. Now you are coming back (and trying to stop our deal)," said the U.S. official.
It just goes to show you what kind of people the french are.

I'm sorry, but I think I'm a retard? Who are the last 2 posts referring to? (the 3,000 & 3,000,000 quotes?)
In the 3K post I thought they were comparing Pan Am 103 to 9/11, which OK, Libya and Saudi Arabia are both Arab states, but the majority of the attackers (on 9/11) were Saudi (not touching the financial backing sitch though). Why does this have to be compared to 103?
Then the next post states that 3,000,000 would have been better. 3 Million who? French? Is this refferring to WWII? Honestly this post is beyond me.
Can someone please clarify. I apoligize if I've missed relevant info, but damn....
