is there a brand known for making the best chocolates of various kinds?

or a specific outlet where you can get the best?

how do the various mass-market brands measure up, in your opinions?

is ghirardelli any good, for example?

big4life, thank you for the link. i'm asking the question because i'd like to get some nice chocolate for a friend of mine since she professes a love for chocolate (but then, how many women don't love it?). she mentioned some that she likes, such as hershey's symphony bars, or lindt truffles, or a couple of ghirardelli flavours. i can get one of those, but wanted to see what else (of quality) is out there.

Word first thing that comes to mind is Godiva when I think of fine chocolate.

When I was in San Francisco a couple of years ago, I toured a Chocolate Factory with my brother and his friends. There is no way those guys would eat cheap, yucky chocolate...lol They are all gourmet eaters.

I like chocolate from Switzerland myself.....I think it's the finest in the world....American chocolate such as Hershey's is nowhere in the same league as Swiss chocolate IMO.....Ghiradelli isn't bad -- I like their caramel filled squares...

Look for a chocolate shop in your area & ask if they sell Swiss chocolate.....it's worth the price...
