They have oficially took us back to the decency las of the 50's.

Howard Stern was suspened from all clear channel radio stations after pressure from the FCC. It is said that consevtive groups are puling to gether and issuingcomplains about Howards show in an effort to shut him down. It is also speculated that this comes from him critizising (and in many ways ridiculing) New Mexico congress woman Heather Wilson for her ramblings during the scolding of CBS president Mel Karmisen after the super bowl scandal.

This shit is riculous.

Where is Bush and his conservative/religious agenda going to stop?

dude this shit is amazing. there is this tendency for knee jerk reaction whenever anything happens. Now the FCC wants wants to start looking into cable and satellite TV programming. Their goal is to leave us a bland and boring society. You'd think these folks would be all about freedom of speach, however the religious right has got their grubby hands all over them. It makes me sick.

I'm glad stern is thowing his support towards Kerry. It might not make a difference censorship wise, but it'll make the current administration pay for it's mistakes.

The funny thing is that it was uncovered that the FCC gets major kick backs from many of the people they regulate. They get tons of contributions in the form of trips, althouhg some are legitimate, the places most frequented by these FCC scumbags, Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Michael Powell, head of the FCC is the biggest recipient of this donations, his excuse is that he must travel first class due to an injury to his leg, uh huh.

How come this isn't in the headlines?

oh and I'll say it again.... how the fuck is congress so quick to move against CBS, Viacom and Clearchannel for infractions done on the TV and radio airwaves? Like 2 weeks after the superbowl there were congressional hearings about the boob incident. 2 WEEKS! One week after that idiot radio jock did whatever he did, the head of Clear Channel had to go infront of congress. 1 WEEK?!?! WTF?!?! Those pricks in congress usually move VERY SLOWLY when it comes to hearings. Do you realize they still haven't done a 9-11 congressional hearing looking into what happened? Do you realize they still have not had a congressional hearing on the whole Enron/energy fiasco? And it'll be at least a year before there are congressional hearings on WMD in Iraq begin.

I don't know. but it makes me sick. Somehow I don't see government relaxing it's hold on anything. When knee jerk laws are passed, they usually stay on the books. Don and Mike got suspended for 2 weeks for dropping the S bomb. Had that happened prior to the superbowl probably nothing would have happened.
