Ok ok, I guess I'm going to be unpopular here but doesn't this kind of thing defeat the utility of karma, to the point that it doesn't mean anything?

Aside from the K I got from being platinum, which most people can determine I received and deduct from me, I am very proud of the non-whoring karma I received for being truly helpful to people.

And Ipersonally give out a LOT of karma, often all I can give out ech day when I see helpful comments.

Maybe Ihaven't been around long enough to get this, but please help me out here if I'm missing out.
