I thought this was an average movie at best. Why do I hear that it's "the best movie out there right now"?

Are all of the other movies on DVD that bad?
 
I wasn't impressed with it.

Neither was my girlfriend.

Perhaps I listened to all the hype. That usually ruins any movie for me.

Yeah - I mean how many new movies out there right now aren't a sequel or a remake. Take those out of the equation and you don't have much to choose from.

i said the same thing and got flamed here...apparently when the media tells you a movie is awesome people don't question it.

I liked it.. ending was drab.. I heard they are making a departed 2.. only 1 character left alive so may be hard!!!
 
Whats was up with that horrible rendition of "Comfortably Numb" during the love scene? If it weren't for the girl having nice legs, I would have skipped that part.
