The deciding factor?

What was your deciding factor?

Ok we all trained naturally at one point... what was the deciding factor for YOU to start using gear, GH, etc

I'm sure there are many diff reasons

Gear is a natural part of the human experience, and evolution.

everyone is programmed to eventually use gear,

some unfortunate individuals don’t evolve fast enough to sense this critical personal need. Abraham Maslow should have included this in his hierarchy.

They past away before they realize this is there true calling from God.

And they simply live their lives unfulfilled.

ahaha i agree with SOLIDSPINE but i decided when i hit a plateau that just wasnt breaking. I also decide i wanted to start on my D1 team instead of watch all the other juciers infront of me.

Actually one of my sales men trained with me, and I went to Mexico with him for a weekend to buy gear.

He recommended I try deca, Sten and test for a 8 week cycle with
anti-e’s and pct, been doing cycles ever since.

Ah that’s when I was young,

Only 47 years old and weighed about 150 when I did my first cycle,

now 56 and weigh 195#

I was 48 and struggling to keep a spot on a competitive softball team as a lame ass DH. Buddy said he had a chance to try it, so I did a half ass, ignorant test E cycle and within 2 weeks I was hitting the ball harder than I had in 10 yrs. The strength led to confidence, which led to more cycles..... Now at 51, nobody on the team hits as consistently hard as I do. Went from 215 to 235, lost 2" around the waist, met a 28 yr old gal. Whew! Homebrewing and lovin' it. Fountain of youth.

I started because the guys I was training with were blowing by me.
Now I use it for the same reason most of the athletes in baseball use it. So they can play at a 23 year old level in their late 30's and 40's.
I gave up on holding the mass I used to hold. I was up to 255 at 15% in my 30's and I'm 210 10% now. But I don't want to whither away ALL my muscle going into my 50's.

Its hard wrestling alligators at 185 lbs. The other guys in my show were 225+ and lean. So it was a career necessity for me. That was in 1993 and now I am 235 at 10%BF.

Ulter, no I meant goin into your 50's, but now I know you are 50. As far as staying on, a fter my first PCT successfully brought me back to being old, I decided to stay on, also.

Had been training for several years. My job is physically demanding and It's hard to keep up with 20 year olds. The gains were not comming as they once did and lets face it, if your over 35 shit just hurts and it's hard to recover. I did my home work for about a year and decided to give it a shot. After severl cycles I saw a doc and now on HRT. Life is good at 39.

wow I guess im just a young pup here at 26, mine was a collection of reasons. Seeing my training partner blow up, and stay there since, of course, keeping my athletic career in check, now people are chasing me!, and finishing on the higher end of the top ten in triathalons, thats also taken a major change, finishing top 5 in the last 3. Its funny how people perceive AAS as a horrible drug, worse then heroin or cocaine... bu tthere are so many long time users who are healthy as a horse.... thats where I plan to end up atleast. :)

Ulter i thought you were 30 at most!

I think real dotage comes from having kids and ex wife’s.

Especially ex wife’s I can remember anything especially alimony,

Looks like most people in this thread are on the older side. I'm 49 and just finished my first cycle. I've been training for 15 years. No way I am going to get bigger naturally, at 49. At 245 -precycle (6 ' 2"); not sure about the BF, but I am not fat - just a little around the gut, but otherwise, well defined; at 255 post cycle, and seems like mostly solid, clean gains (ran 500 EQ and 500 Test/week). I hit a plateau, and started getting bored. Thought I'd try the juice before I get too old, and bulk up a bit more before doing a cutting cycle. I am not too impressed with the gains for a first cycle, but I'll make the final judgment after PCT. That's okay. Learned a lot. I was already very big, and on the older side so, the effects may be less dramatic. Plus, I didn't take any orals, and probably should have eaten more, though I did shovel it in.
